Our good friends The KickDrums have dropped some new freshness for your listening pleasure. First up is the track "Nothing To It" which is from the group's unreleased first LP Detached, At Ease. This track is a wonderful chill melodic track, which differs a bit from the band's hip hop based sound. Next up is The KickDrums cover of the Shocking Blue classic (which has been sampled by hip hop heads over and over) "Love Buzz". Most people may know this track as it Nirvana covered the Shocking Blue song as their debut single in 1988. Dropping some history on ya, Thanks Wikipedia. lol. KickDrums' vocalist Alex Fitts states, "I've wanted to do this for years. Started it and scrapped it, over and over. I guess I was sorta intimidated by the idea because Kurt was one of the first to cover this and has always been one of my biggest influences, and I know how passionate people can be about his music. Now that it's done, I'm really happy I did it. Enjoy!"
The band has recently finished their follow EP Meet Your Ghost and are looking at a Spring release date. As soon as we get more information on it's release we will keep you guys in the loop. You can check out the streams for both tracks below and then grab the download for "Nothing To It" over at Consequence of Sound and then grab your download for "Love Buzz" after the jump in exchange for your email.
