[Introducing] Jai Paul - "BTSTU"

When I first heard this track, it put me into a trance like state of relaxation. Something of a rarity these days, unless it's 10:30pm on a Friday and I've had a few too many beers after work. It has that off beat tempo that has your mind constantly guessing mixed together with the atmospheric noise and relaxed vocals mixing well to make this great track. The track I'm talking about is by a young UK artist by the name of Jai Paul.

The easy comparison to make would obviously be James Blake, and rightly so. The minimal, dub like beats and rhythms familiar with heavier music, but here they're slowed down and broken down resulting in these hypnotic like tracks. Both artists have the ability to make the hairs on the back of your neck stand up, yet you're not quite sure why. I like the feeling of the unknown and this track kept me guessing.

Titled "BTSTU" give it a listen for yourselves below and keep your eye out for this rising talent who's actually on the XL Recordings label, you know that label that recently put on Tyler, The Creators Goblin here in the UK. He may not make you want to start a mosh pit and burn shit, but these tracks from Jai Paul are worth a few minutes of your time. Happy listening and don't blame me for the relaxed state it puts you in.
