[News] The Flaming Lips Unveil Details for Record-Breaking 24-Hour Tour

The Flaming Lips are no strangers at performing outlandish stunts and being all around ridiculous guys, but this time around they're going for a record breaking attempt. The band are attempting to break the Guinness World Record for Most Concerts in One Day later this month where they will play eight consecutive shows in three different states over the course of twenty-four hours. Last night, they revealed the details regarding the tour, including their specific route and who will be opening for them.

Kicking things off in Memphis, TN on June 27th at 7:30pm EST, The Flaming Lips will then carry on to perform in Clarksdale, MS, Oxford, MS, Jackson, MS, Hattiesburg, MS, Biloxi, MS, Baton Rouge, LA and finally New Orleans. The band will also be backed up by the likes of Neon Indian, Grace Potter & The Nocturnals, Grimes, and several others over the course of their record-breaking tour. Check out the full tour itinerary and details after the jump, with tickets now on sale. As well, the whole tour will be webcast live online as a part of MTV's O Music Awards.
