Following the release of One Of Us Is The Killer the band have now announced that they'll be crossing the Atlantic to cause some mayhem here in the UK later in 2013. It's always nice to have some new music from Abel Tesfaye, better known as The Weeknd, and today we get some and boy oh by is it nice! He's released the title track to his new album, Kiss Land, and it's 7 minutes and 41 seconds of his fantasies and dreams. It's a psychedelic, sexy, and it's also a step forward for his style which is sounding ever more refined and beautiful to the ear.
Little is known about his new album but hey. He could surprise drop it at any time going from his track record. For now just enjoy the track below.

A sad, sad day this way comes. It may be Friday and you're getting excited for some post work beers but hold a moments silence for Leeds label Brew Records. Sadly they have decided to call it a day after 6 years and 27 releases. Some of which have been my favourites in recent years and turned me onto some of my now favourite bands.
Currently home to Kong, Humanfly, Blacklisters, Castrovalva and Nine Black Alps, Brew had also previously released records by Hawk Eyes, These Monsters, Shield Your Eyes and That Fucking Tank they'll be closing their doors. ]]>We've had the pleasure of releasing some incredible records over the years and have been fortunate to work with so many amazing people. We'd like to thank everyone that has ever supported us, bought a record or a t-shirt and spread our music in general. Humanfly's 'Awesome Science' is our final release and we couldn't think of a better record to go out on which sums up what we love about physical records both musically and aesthetically. The label will still remain active for a while as we wind things down and continue to take and fulfil orders.
To celebrate/commiserate we are currently running a big sale on our store where every CD/vinyl/shirt/poster (except the new Humanfly album) is now reduced in price. For the next 2 weeks all our releases are set to 'pay what you like' on bandcamp too (except the new Humanfly album) so feel free to explore our back catalog and if you feel like paying some money we won't complain.
When the hell does Ty Segall sleep?? Apparently he's found time to rest amongst his barrage of releases, including last year's full-length albums Twins, Slaughterhouse and Hair and a few singles and covers this year. The rest won't last long, though, as the San Francisco rocker is releasing the follow-up to Twins on August 20th. It's titled Sleeper (haha). Watch the album announcement trailer below.

Franz Ferdinand are back! Nearly a decade after releasing their self-titled debut, the Scottish four-piece have announced their fourth studio album Right Thoughts, Right Words, Right Action. The album was recorded over the past year at various studios in the UK, Scotland, Sweden, and Norway, and will feature a few interesting collaborations (they've yet to reveal any more on that).
Right Thoughts, Right Words, Right Action will be released on August 27th, and features ten tracks. Take a look at the album announcement trailer as well as the album tracklisting below.

Ready for another Queens of the Stone Age post yet? Well I hope so as the band have uploaded the latest in their animated series. Keeping the tone similar to the dark and twisted video we've seen for "I Appear Missing", "Kalopsia", and just yesterday "Keep Your Eyes Peeled", today's offering for "If I Had A Tail" features a woman with a passion for dangerous driving. Along with her erratic driving habits, she also has a passenger seat full of Molotov cocktails. You can only throw so many of those things before you're going to piss somebody off, which is inevitably what she does. According to the video series' creator Boneface (who put it together with the help of animator Liam Brazier), the five animations we'll see "tell the story of a lonely character, traveling through a city without salvation. The stories are broken into pieces to create a shocking tale of violence and debauchery. "

]]>There's never a dull moment when that moment involves Wayne Coyne and last night was no different as he visited the studios of Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. There with The Flaming Lips to perform Terror featuring track "Try to Explain", they also laid down a cover of David Bowie's "Heroes". Coyne was pretty much starkers for the performances. Before stripping off though he did seem to enjoy and entertaining game of pictionary with Fallon, Demi Lovato, and Julie Bowen.

Teaming up with the young and talented King Krule, Mount Kimbie offer up "You Took Your Time" from their forthcoming album Cold Spring Fault Less Youth. The duo offer up the jazz like drums while Krule's croon carries every bit of the track forward. The James Blake type sounds of the beat paired up with the vocal kind of reminds me of The Streets in a way. I think all of us at SKoA just have a longing for Mike Skinner to return to his former self. However, I've found it hard not to enjoy anything Archy touches and this track is no different. Check out his mesmerizing part in this collaboration below.
