Our percussion-friendly pals A Lull premiered a new song over on Pitchfork earlier today called "Summer Dress" from their upcoming summer EP titled Meat Mountain. The EP will follow up last year's Confetti, which is still a personal favorite of mine. What I continue to love about A Lull is all of the layering that goes on in their music. Everything is assembled so delicately but it still manages to emit such power with it. "Summer Dress" is no exception to this. I'm very much looking forward to this EP. Make sure you pre-order your copy after you grab the track below.
When I hear the phrase "I'm On Fire" I can't help but think of Kasabian, however long before Serge and co were even a band a great man and musician ruled the air-waves and record players of many. That man was Bruce Springsteen. To honour The Boss, this Christmas Chicago's A Lull offer up their take on his 1985 single "I'm On Fire". See what you make of their take on the track below via Hypetrak.

Above is the video for Chicago-based rockers A Lull's latest single "Some Love" from their album Confetti that dropped back in April. The video features a group going on an adventure in the countryside that includes graffitting an old building, rolling in the grass and fireworks. All things that I enjoy personally, so this video is a win for me.
If you haven't picked up Confetti yet, I highly suggest that you do so.
The ever wonderous Daytrotter just upped a session from Chicago-based group A Lull. I've seen these guys live several times and am happy to continue to wave the A Lull flag after hearing the quality of this session. There are so many elements that go into their signature experimental sound and they can pull it off in the studio or on any stage you put them on.
Head over to Daytrotter to have a listen and grab the tracks.
Above is the video for Chicago-based A Lull's single "Weapons For War". For longtime readers, you may remember that we've hooked you up with this song back in February that also included a remix. It's still available so please go grab it!
Very excited to see these guys getting great press coverage (the video above is from Pitchfork). They totally deserve it.
Word is they're heading out on tour again very soon. Once we have those dates we'll toss them up. You HAVE to see this band. No questions asked.
Chicago's A Lull definitely knows how to spread the love all around despite an incredibly disheartening tour. They're currently offering digital downloads of both their single and the remix EP for said single (which I guess is technically just a 2-part maxi single), for the magical retail price of $FREE.99 on their website.
ANYWAYS, "Weapons For War" the single version of the 2 available downloads also includes the track "Spread It All Around", which has recently made my head cave in a little upon first listen. I absolutely cannot stop listening to it right now. Also with the free download is a chance to pick up a 7" version of the single for $5 (not including shipping), which will be a limited pressing of 250.
Go grab both off their website and have a listen.
