Today's guest in Radio One's Live Lounge was the talented Mr. Ben Howard who brought along his backing band to put in some spine tingling performances of his recent singles but he also put in a fantastic cover. After performing "Esmerelda", "Only Love", "Keep Your Head Up" and a personal favourite track of mine at the moment, "Oats in the Water", he opted to take on Ellie Goulding's current single "Figure 8". The results are quite simply magical from start to finish. You can check out his cover below. To listen to the entire set, head over to the official BBC website.

Ben Howard is a young talent that released his album Every Kingdom late last year to an ever growing fan base. Earlier this week he was the guest on Radio One for their weekly Live Lounge section. While there he played his single "Only Love" but as you may be aware of by now, the live lounge gives birth to some great covers and this week was no different. Ben covered Carly Rae Jepsen's "Call me Maybe". Yes. That highly catchy song that my work colleagues enjoy singing to me daily as they know I have a dislike of it. Still, this version I can listen to without wanting to stick a pen in my ears. Check it out at the top.

If you missed the session you can check out the entire thing over on the BBC website but up at the top you can watch the aforementioned "Black Flies".
