[News] Blur Announces They Are Reuniting

After months and months of Blur denying that they would ever reunite, along with all the hubbub surrounding their Olympics performance, things may have changed for the better. Today, the band was announced as the headliner of Rock Werchter festival in Belgium, and it appears Damon Albarn and company are finally reuniting. Taking to their Facebook page, the band said:

Thank you for waiting... Rock Werchter is about to announce that Blur will headline next July. We're excited.. hope to travel in 2013 to play to more of our lovely fans who we haven't seen for a while. Don't know where yet, we'll tell as soon as we do.. Stand by."

Rock Werchter takes place at Festival Park in Werchter, Belgium from July 4-7th.

[Watch] Blur - "Under the Westway" (Official Video)

After debuting their two new songs, "Under the Westway" and "The Puritan," earlier this week on a London rooftop, Blur is giving fans even more. The official video for "Under the Westway" sees the band partaking in an intimate in-studio performance of the song, giving an interesting sense of how they interactive as a group. Watch it above.

The limited 7" single of "Under the Westway" and "The Puritan" is out on August 9th via Parlophone, while both songs are available now digitally. As well, the band's rooftop performance from earlier this week is available to stream on their official website.

[Listen] Blur - "Under the Westway" x "The Puritan"

Yesterday evening Blur premiered two brand new tracks live via Twitter. They actually performed live from a rooftop on London, albeit a rather rainy rooftop, and streamed the entire thing online. The result is two brand new tracks "Under the Westway" and "The Puritan" and luckily for us Blur uploaded some lyrics videos immediately after the stream and they can be enjoyed right here. Up at the top is "Under The Westway" while after the jump you can enjoy "The Puritan".

The band have hinted that their performance at the Olympics, which these tracks were written for, may be their last but to me it seems like Damon can't sit still for too long. So for now let's enjoy the new tracks.
