Earlier in the week Grouplove performed on the late night TV circuit. They visited Conan O'Brien to lay down a live version of "Itchin’ on a Photograph" which features on their latest release, Never Trust a Happy Song. If you missed it earlier in the week don't fret, you can re-watch the performance at the top of the page via The Audio Perv.

On Tuesday evening Grouplove paid a visit to Jimmy Kimmel to perform two tracks from their album Never Trust A Happy Song. Although I don't quite agree with the album name choice I do agree with their performances for the masses. They performed "Tongue Tied" and the equally infectious "Colours". Peep the performance(s) up at the top courtesy of The Audio perv.
Late last week Grouplove took to the stage at the Ed Sullivan Theater to perform for the masses an David Letterman. Whilst their they performed their feel good hit "Colours" and the results can be seen up at the top of the page.
Their debut LP Never Trust a Happy Song is out now and well worth a listen, they may tell you to never trust a happy song but they sure can put you in a good mood!
LA-based indie-folkers Family of the Year recently unveiled their first single, "St. Croix" from their upcoming EP of the same name which is due to drop on September 27th. The song has already been making the rounds in its hometown, topping the "Locals Only" playlist on KROQ and we can see/hear why with it's vibrant 80s-esque riffs and carefree lyrics. This song will definitely be getting added into my weekly rotation. It's definitely a good way to kick off the week, that's for sure!
Following the St Croix EP a proper full length is expected early next year.
The band has confirmed dates in September and October on the west coast sharing the stage with the likes of Viva Brother and Grouplove. You can check out the dates after the jump for more info.

Grouplove were the band that stepped into Daytrotter's studio today to lay down some track in session. The band, who are to release their debut full length Never Trust a Happy Song next month laid down some tracks from their EP's as well as the upcoming LP. In the set the played the ridiculously catchy sing along tune "Colours" along with "Gold Coast", "Don't Say Oh Well" and "Naked Kids" all of which come together beautifully in a live situation. The bands harmonies and raw passion shines through and this session is well worth a download. Listen to "Colours" from the session below and grab the full set over at Daytrotter.
Never Trust a Happy Song is penned to be released on September the 13th via Canvasback Music/Atlantic.
We like Foster The People and we like Grouplove so this little gem is a welcome mid-day treat. Courtesy of RCRD LBL download yoruself this remix of Foster The People's incredibly catchy track "Pumped up Kicks" done by Grouplove and Captain Cuts. This track is a nice summer tune as it is but this additional rework from the two groups gives it that little bit more of a va va voom. Hit play below and download it too. No excuses, it's free!
