This feels like a nice step forward for MellowHype aka Left Brain and Hodgy Beats of Odd Future. Offering up a new track called "La Bonita" which is set to appear on their forthcoming project Numbers the duo seems ot have grown a little with their musical project. Hodgy pushes is vocal ability in this one and I really enjoyed it. See if you agree below.
Never ones to deal with PR or put out a press release, Odd Future took to their tumblr (as they always do) to put out their version of a press release:
If Anyone Cares, This Is Our ‘Press Release’( those things are kinda stupid). Below That Is The Tour Dates For The CAMP FLOG GNAW TOUR In September. We Are Hitting New Cities That We’ve Never Been To. Last Show Is In Los Angeles With An OF Carnival And Some Special Shit Happening There. Yes, We Said Carnival."
The evening after his first interview since his return, not to mention appearing in the music video for The OF Tape Vol. 2 closer "Oldie," Odd Future prodigy Earl Sweatshirt made his on-stage debut alongside his hip hop cohorts. During OFWGKTA's concert in New York City Tuesday night, Earl came to the forefront to perform renditions of "Orange Juice," "Assmilk" and "Kill." You can watch live footage of his live performances after the jump.
This morning, Odd Future's most reclusive MC Earl Sweatshirt was interviewed by Peter Rosenburg of Hot 97, joined by Tyler, The Creator and Taco. In his first interview since returning to the music world, a shy Earl discussed what it was like missing out on the incredible success the hip hop outfit has seen in the last year. He also went futher to open up about the truth behind his time away, clearing up rumours that it was because his mother disagreed with his music. Here's what he had to say:
Motherfuckers think that my mom heard a song and was like, No, I’m not fucking with this song. I was fucking up. Outside of music, music aside from everything, I was fucking up."
The entirety of the ten-minute video is available to watch above (via The Fader). As well, you can watch the ten-minute video for "Oldie," the closing track on the just released OF Tape Vol. 2, after the jump. OF Tape Vol. 2 is out now.
Just today, we got to hear Earl Sweatshirt's contribution to the upcoming OF Tapes Vol. 2 with the closing track "Oldie," and to makes matters even better, Frank Ocean's only solo track on the album has surfaced as well. The song is titled "White" and is a slow, two-minute number that Ocean pulls off smoothly. Give it a listen after the jump.
Odd Future's latest release, the compilation OF Tapes Vol. 2, is out in a matter of days, and as The NJ Underground points out, the album closer "Oldie" features an appearance by none other than Earl Sweatshirt. This contradicts with the hip hop outfit's statement that the famed member would not be featured on the album. Nonetheless, in no way is it a bad thing, so give the track a listen below.
OF Tapes Vol. 2 is out on March 20th via Odd Future Records.
UPDATE: An impromptu music video was filmed during a photo shoot with Terry Richardson. The video is available to watch after the jump.
Last month we saw a weird video from the Odd Future crew for a track set to feature on their OF Tape Vol. 2 which is set to drop later this month on the 20th of March. This video for a track featuring Tyler and Hodgy follows on from "Rella" and features a bald, fat Hodgy and a more than creepy looking Tyler who has the body of a child. It will haunt your dreams, if you indeed do actually dream. It was directed by Tyler himself aka Wolf Haley and filmed by OF member Luis Perez.
A new track and a new video has hit the web from the Odd Future camp. The track features Hodgy Beats, Domo Genesis and the ring leader himself, Tyler, The Creator. The video, well that's a weird one. Hodgy fires lasers from his, erm, well his dick. Domo slaps a girl so hard she changes race and Tyler is a powder snorting centaur. So yeah, it's pretty standard stuff when you think about the guys that it's come from. Check it out at the top.
