[Watch] The Flaming Lips visit Late Night with Jimmy Fallon

There's never a dull moment when that moment involves Wayne Coyne and last night was no different as he visited the studios of Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. There with The Flaming Lips to perform Terror featuring track "Try to Explain", they also laid down a cover of David Bowie's "Heroes". Coyne was pretty much starkers for the performances. Before stripping off though he did seem to enjoy and entertaining game of pictionary with Fallon, Demi Lovato, and Julie Bowen.

"Try To Explain" is above with the cover and pictionary shenanigans after the jump.

[Watch] The Flaming Lips - "Look...The Sun Is Rising" Live on Letterman

Last night if you follow us here at SKoA closely, you may have been aware that Kibbe was at the Ed Sullivan Theater helping Wayne Coyne with his Reddit AMA prior to the band hitting up Letterman. You can check out the interesting AMA over here if you missed it. Chances are if you missed that, you may have also missed their performance on Late Show with David Letterman so why not hit play on the video above to see Wayne and co perform "Look... The Sun Is Rising" which is taken from their forthcoming album The Terror. It comes complete with Wayne cradling a toy baby throughout the performance... yeah. Standard Flaming Lips, really.

That's not all the Flaming Lips goodness this week. Some of you may remember Coyne and co. teamed up with Bon Iver on a track for last year's The Flaming Lips and Heady Fwends. The collaboration, titled "Ashes In The Air", now has a video and it's as weird as you would expect. Check it out below.

[Watch] The Flaming Lips feat. Amanda Palmer - "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face" (NSFW)

Remember when The Flaming Lips released the video for "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face" a couple of months ago? Remember how upset Erykah Badu was with the final edit? Well, following Erykah's objections, the video was taken down, but Wayne Coyne and co. have gone and recruited Amanda Palmer of The Dresden Dolls and redone the NSFW video. Palmer is the naked subject this time around, as opposed to Badu's sister Nayrok, who previously fulfilled this role. Second time's the charm. Watch it above.

[Watch] The Flaming Lips Visit The Colbert Report

All week we've been enjoying highlights from StePhest Colbchella ’012 RocktAugustfest. We've been able to enjoy Grizzly Bear performing and having a chat with Stephen, yesterday we saw Santigold rocking the stage and last night, naturally, we got to enjoy The Flaming Lips strut their psychedelic stuff. The band performed "Ashes in the Air" from Heady Fwends, along with "Do You Realize" and "Drug Chart". As well as that the ever entertaining Colbert goes 180degrees with Wayne Coyne in a weird capsule to have a chat. Check it out at the top and after the jump courtesy of The Audio Perv.

[Listen] Mastodon - "A Spoonful Weighs a Ton" (Flaming Lips Cover)

Last week we got to preview the awesome sounding release from Feist and Mastodon that they put out for Record Store Day. Speaking of, we hope you had an awesome day on Saturday and managed to get everything you wanted! As well as that release with Feist, Mastodon offered up a cover of The Flaming Lips' 1999 track "A Spoonful Weighs A Ton". Of course as with most things on tumblr that have a fan base, Mastodon have a Fuck Yeah site who, following RSD, posted up the track which can now be streamed below. We'll be throwing up more RSD releases throughout the morning so be prepared for some more awesome coming your way.
