[News] Bestival Announces Line-Up Additions; Beck & Foals join Outkast as headliners

Bestival has just announced its initial line-up and it's going to be hard to beat in terms of ending your summer on a high in 2014. Beck and Foals will top the bill at the event, joining the returning duo of Outkast, as announced last week. The rest of the acts announced are Disclosure, Major Lazer, Sam Smith, CHVRCHES, London Grammar, Wild Beasts, Caribou, Clean Bandit and Laura Mvula.

As is tradition with the festival, it will have a theme and this year it's 'Desert Island Disco'. I think opens up a few more options compared to 2013's nautical 'HMS Bestival' theme so get your thinking caps on if you're planning on grabbing a ticket.

Bestival takes place from September 4th-7th on the Isle of Wight and tickets are on sale now.

[Listen] Alt-J - "Fitzpleasure"

From their AA sided single Matilda / Fitzpleasure, which will be released courtesy of Infectious Music, comes "Fitzpleasure" from Leeds quartet Alt-J. Don't let the lead in on this song deceive you because the bright vocals quickly blend with a heavy bass fuzz, guitar scratching and percussion that will draw you into focusing on all of the intricacies. The band will be heading out on tour in February with Ghostpoet before joining Wild Beasts on their tour in March. Be on the lookout in May for their debut album. We'll keep you posted with more details in the coming months.

With that comes a limited edition coloured 12" Vinyl and a bunch of B-Sides not to mention a brand new track which you can hear below. Recorded during the Smother sessions, "Thankless Thing" isn't a million miles away from the album but then it didn't make the final track-listing so decide for yourselves if it's worthy below.

[Listen] Lady Gaga - "Yoü And I" (Wild Beasts Remix)

It's not often you find a Lady Gaga related post gracing the face of SKoA, but it's not everyday you see a small UK band from Kendal in the middle of nowhere being asked to officially remix the biggest musician alive today is it?! Wild Beasts have turned Gaga's latest single "Yoü And I" into a slow jam that's distant drum sound and rumbling bass lines are far away from the original over the top record Gaga had created. Hayden Thorpe of the band said that: “Gaga in many ways is the epitome of what we are not. She is the butcher to our butter knife. The essential thrill is always to keep eluding what is expected of us and what we expect of ourselves." Check out the official, albeit unlikely remix below.

The remix is also helping raise awareness to the ways people can support independent labels that lost stock in the Pias UK warehouse fire. More information on that can be found over at the AIM website.

[Watch] Wild Beasts - "Bed Of Nails" (Video)

Another new video for you to feast your eyes on this afternoon, and this time it's from Wild Beasts. Laying down some colourful visuals for their track "Bed Of Nails" you can give it a watch up at the top.
The track will be available digitally and features a b-side, “Catherine Wheel”. In another twist the band are releasing the single as a limited edition postcard. It will feature artwork from the photographer Jason Evans and will be signed by the band. The limited run of 500 will include a download code for both “Bed of Nails” and “Catherine Wheel” just in case you were wondering. To order a postcard jump on over here. [Watch] Wild Beasts - Télérama Live Basement Session

Check out Wild Beasts putting down a spine tingling performance of three tracks from their album, Smother. The album is set for release next week on the 9th in the UK and on the 10th in the US. Up at the top you can check out stripped back performances of "Reach A Bit Further", "Bed Of Nails" and "Deeper" taken from the album. The album was recorded for the French website Télérama in what looks to be a basement car-park of sorts.

Head on over here to pre-order a copy and enjoy the video up at the top but don't blame us for the hairs on the back of your neck standing up. We did warn you. Also after the jump if you want more of an insight into the release there's an interview too.

[Watch] Wild Beasts - "Albatross" (Video)

Courtesy of Pitchfork TV we have a brand new video from Wild Beasts to enjoy for their track "Albatross". The track is set to feature on the upcoming full length from the UK band titled Smother. The video sees a woman dancing around a creepy looking white sheet draped room, Kind of reminds me of a room Dexter Morgan may prepare. Add to this some huge bugs of the fossilised kind and some dead ones to boot it is an all round weird vid that pairs up nicely with the track. Check it out for yourselves above.
