[News] Alabama Shakes Announce Headlining Summer Tour Dates

Alabama Shakes' 2012 is getting better and better, with their debut LP Boys & Girls reaching No. 20 on the Billboard 200 and No. 1 on the Independent Label chart, an upcoming sold out tour with Jack White planned, and now they've announced yet another headlining tour. Following their sold out tour with Jack White and appearances at both Sasquatch! and Bonnaroo, Alabama Shakes will perform a free show on June 24th in New York's Central Park alongside Diamond Rugs and Robert Ellis as part of the city's SummerStage concert series. From there, the band will hit the road again at the end of July and carry through until August 16th. For their full tour schedule, take a look after the jump.

[Watch] Alabama Shakes - "Hold On" Live on Letterman

Alabama Shakes are next up for you to enjoy and they visited David Letterman to lay down a spine tingling rendition of their single "Hold On" which features on their recently released album Boys & Girls. Brittany Howard's voice is as soulful as they come and the band are as solid as they get. Put the two together and you have one hell of a great performance to watch at the top via The Audio Perv.

This time next week, Alabama Shakes' debut album Boys & Girls will be released and their soul filled blues will fill the air of many peoples homes. Rightly so. Ever since CMJ last year when we heard nothing but positive reviews it's been a whirlwind rise through the ranks gaining love from the likes of Adele and Justin Vernon. Today they offer up the official video for their single "Hold On", in which the band are in a small room doing what they do oh so well, jamming. Brittany Howard's vocals bring a chill to the strongest of spines and the accompaniment just adds to the slow finish of the song. Get excited and get ready for more of these guys.

[News] Alabama Shakes Announce Spring Tour Dates

Alabama Shakes are set to release their highly anticipated debut album Boys & Girls on April 10th, and in support of the forthcoming release the band have announced tour dates throughout the months of March and April. Starting with shows throughout the Midwest and at SXSW in March, the band's tour will further take them to the East Coast of the U.S. before heading across the pond for shows in Germany, Belgium, Netherlands, France, England and Ireland. From there, the band will be returning to the States to perform at this year's Sasquatch!, Hangout and Bonnaroo Music Festivals. Give their tour itinerary a look after the jump.

[Watch] Alabama Shakes Perform "Hold On" and "I Ain't The Same" on Conan

In a fantastic turn of events, Conan O'Brien made the fantastic choice of booking Alabama Shakes for last night's episode of Conan. The Alabama outfit took to the stage to perform their hit "Hold On," which will be included on the band's upcoming debut album Boys & Girls and is available to watch above courtesy of The Audio Perv. To make things even better, Team Coco provided an internet exclusive clip of the band performing "I Ain't The Same," which you can watch after the jump.

[Listen x Watch] Alabama Shakes Visit KCRW's Morning Becomes Eclectic

Alabama Shakes are currently gearing up for the release of their debut LP, Boys & Girls, in April. IN build up to that they're getting plenty of appreciation wherever they tread and they recently visited KCRW's Morning Becomes Eclectic. The full performance can be streamed below and it shows just how much passion and soul the band have in a live scenario. If on record they have the power to give you a chill, live is just, well, see for yourselves. There's also a little live footage which can be enjoyed at the top. It's them performing "Hold On", which is exactly what I advise you to do before hitting play on either. After the jump there's footage of "Be Mine" too. 

Keep your eyes peeled for the band releasing their Jack White/Third Man Records 7" too in the very near future. Boys & Girls will drop on April 10th.

[News] Alabama Shakes Announce Debut Album: 'Boys & Girls'

All you could hear at CMJ last October was praise for Alabama Shakes so it comes as very welcome news that they've announced their debut album. I'm sure Justin Vernon and Adele will be pretty stoked about the news too! Titled Boys & Girls, the 11-track effort was recorded and mixed at The Bomb Shelter in Nashville, Tennessee and was it'll be a self produced affair too. It's set for release on April 10th but you can stream a the single "Hold On" below 3 months prior to the albums release!

As well as that, Jack White is set to release a two-song 7″ single with the band which is looking likely to be later this month (January) on Third Man Records. Hat tip to Sami at RiOB for the heads up on this.
