[Watch] Cults - "You Know What I Mean" (Official Video)

In Cults' new video for "You Know What I Mean," the band has some important lessons to teach. First off, dads are messed up, especially when you want to date their daughter. Second, fire is dangerous, so don't fuck with it. And third, love prevails, even if you're suffering from severe third degree burns. Check it out above, via NPR.

[Watch] Cults - "Everybody Knows" (Leonard Cohen Cover) Live in Studio Performance

Last month we saw Cults cover Leonard Cohen's "Everybody Knows" and today The Guardian points towards a studio recording of them performing that very same song. It's part of a new series put together by Columbia called  "Old Ideas With New Friends" in which they'll get modern day artists covering their favourite Cohen songs. Up at the top you can see Cults take on the song whilst over on the Vimeo channel you can catch performances of "Paper Thin Hotel" from Greg Dulli and "There Is a War" from Cold War Kids. There are more tracks/performances coming in the coming weeks.

[Watch] Cults Cover Leonard Cohen

Another cover to wrap your ears around following up the Fleet Foxes post earlier is some footage of the NY duo Cults covering Leonard Cohen recently in Philadelphia. They take on Cohen's "Everybody Knows" making it their own with an atmospheric performance of the track paired up with Madeline's lovely yet dark sounding vocal. Cults' self titled debut is out everywhere now. If you're gong to check these guys out live it looks like you'll be treated to this cover too if you're lucky.

[SKOA Presents] The 50 Best Albums Of 2011: 25 - 21

25. Theophilus London - Timez Are Weird These Days [Amazon] [iTunes] [Insound]

Following up his critically acclaimed mixtape/unofficial album, This Charming Mixtape and his A Lovers Holiday EP earlier in the year, fashionable rapper Theophilus London earned our undivided attention on his proper debut full length release, Timez Are Weird These Days. I have enjoyed watching London develop over the past few years as he continues to evolve and challenge himself to break new ground. Older fans will appreciate that he didn't stray too far away from what we've grown to love about him while newcomers will find the album approachable enough to dive right in alongside the rest of us. There are many quality tracks that I will continue to rock into the new year, including: "Wine and Chocolates", "I Stand Alone", "Last Name London", "Girls Girls $", and "Lighthouse".—Kibbe
