[Listen] Kid Koala, Dan The Automator, Damon Albarn - Untitled

It's the return of the original Gorillaz/Deltron 3030! Well kinda. Kid Koala recently guest DJ'd on Tim Sweeney's weekly radio show Beats in Space and debuted an unreleased untitled demo which featured constant Koala collaborator Dan The Automator and Blur/Gorillaz frontman Damon Albarn.

For those that don't know, Koala and Dan The Automator created one of the greatest hip hop albums of all time along side Bay Area emcee Del The Funky Homosapien titled Deltron 3030. One of the tracks from that iconic release featured Blur frontman Damon Albarn titled "Time Keeps On Slipping." This track basically led to the creation of the Gorillaz self titled debut and the rest is history.

Kid Koala has also played this track during some of his live shows and thanks to our friends at OneThirtyBPM you can hear the studio version below and we've also included a live soundboard perfomance of the live version, which is slightly different and has clearer vocals from Damon. Check it out below!

[Listen] Snoop Dogg - "Sumthin Like This Night" Feat. Gorillaz

It may be awhile before we hear another Gorillaz album after the 2 albums they released of last year, Plastic Beach and The Fall. But, Damon and the gang always know how to keep themselves in the public eye. Damon is currently working on an upcoming theatrical project (much like the work he did with Monkey: Journey To The West) based upon the life of the 16th-century alchemist, astrologer and spy John Dee. But before that Damon hooked back up with Snoop on his latest album Doggumentary for a new Snoop x Gorillaz collab titled "Sumthin Like This Night."

Check out the track in the player below which still carries the vibe of Gorillaz' 3rd album Plastic Beach which Snoop also guest featured on for the song "Welcome To The World of The Plastic Beach." Doggumentary drops next Tuesday.

[News] Gorillaz unveil new Cartoon member

Back in November, Gorillaz announced that they were after a new member, a new Cartoon member to be precise. They decided to hold an online contest to get fans to help create their newest member who they say is called the Evangelist.

Over on their official website, we were given a snippet of info regarding the character:

"'The Evangelist' is the opposite of 'The Boogieman'; the light to his awful shade. 'The Boogieman' has appeared in several images from the Gorillaz world, and now featured in several videos... 'The Evangelist' is a similar entity, but the flip-side of 'The Boogieman'. He/she may even be revealed as 'The Boogieman's' avenger. His/her outer appearance is yet to be defined. Many rumours fly around of his/her description."

A winner of the competition has been announced and after being re-drawn by Jamie Hewlett, Gorrilaz.com member jirouta's character is a fully fledged member of the band! You can from the creepy image above the Evangelist via Pitchfork.

[Listen] Gorillaz - Scavenger Hunt Remix Revealed x New Album Releasing Christmas Day

All the fun and frustration of the Gorillaz Scavenger Hunt has finally come to an end. For those unfamiliar or have been living in a cave desperately trying to obtain a wifi signal, Gorillaz launched an online scavenger hunt earlier this week. The goal was to locate all 12 images of the band that were hidden around the web, that match the silhouettes on http://gorillaz.savvynets.com/ . When you found an image, and clicked on it, a specialized link would take you back to the scavenger site to show you the piece you obtained on your game board.Once all 12 images were found, a new remix would be revealed, and you can also enter to win a Gorillaz surfboard.

Thanks to the help of all of the people over at Gorillaz-Unofficial, Gorillaz.com, Gorillaz Official Facebook Page and Reddit, all 12 pieces have been obtained and we have the unreleased remix for you to listen below. It's a new remix of the single "Of Melancholy Hill" done by Josh Wink that has not been featured on any promo or official releases. For those interested in playing the game and entering in for a chance of getting the Gorillaz surfboard, you can still do so by clicking the link above to start the game.

In other Gorillaz news, Damon Albarn has stated they may call it quits after the Gorillaz World Tour. Which would totally suck. But the great news, Co-creator Jamie Hewlett confirmed in an recent interview that the new Gorillaz' album that Albarn had been creating on his iPad would be released on Christmas Day. YES!!

"At the moment we've got an advent calendar on our website and there is a daily door that opens to reveal a gift," Hewlett says. "On Christmas Eve a video for one of the new songs from the iPad album will be released. Then, on Christmas Day fans get the whole album downloaded to their computer for free as a gift."

So there you go, if Gorillaz are ending at least they are going out with a bang. But lets hope Damon and the crew are here to stay for many more.

The Neptunes/N*E*R*D's Pharrell Williams Working With Blur/Gorillaz' Damon Albarn On New Song

I knew these photos had a story to tell. Pharrell Williams has revealed that he's putting a song together with Gorillaz frontman Damon Albarn. According to NME, The rapper said he has been in the studio laying down one new song. He didn't make it clear if it was recorded for Gorillaz, but with Albarn releasing a new album by the collective this year and having said he's working on further new songs for them, it is thought that Williams' contribution was for that project.

“We’re working on a song together,” he told the Daily Star. “We haven’t finished it but it sounds so dope, though.”

Hears hoping that Williams and Albarn's upcoming track makes the next Gorillaz release which Damon has been recording on his iPad and is attempting to release around the holidays.
