[Watch] Ellie Goulding Visits Saturday Night Live

British songstress Ellie Goulding has had one hell of a few weeks in terms of good press. Firstly, she performed at the Royal Wedding reception here in the UK. I don't know if you guys heard that there was some kind of wedding between that Royal, Prince William and some girl named Kate. I don't know, there wasn't a lot of TV time given to it so my understanding of the situation is sketchy. But whatever, Ellie played the reception as the Prince and Kate Middleton are said to be big fans. That's some high pressure performance right there! Now this weekend she continues to make waves but across the pond, with a performance of two tracks on Saturday Night Live.

Up at the top you can enjoy a performance of "Your Song" and after the jump there is an equally good performance of "Lights". Both tracks feature on her re-issued debut album, Lights, which you can grab a copy of over here. Nice to see another Brit getting some recognition across the pond.

[News] Radio One's Big Weekend Main Stage Lineup Revealed; Foo Fighters, My Chemical Romance, Lady Gaga...

Every year Radio One put on their 'Big Weekend' at which a range of artists play slots to fans all who have won tickets for the event. I personally won tickets one year and the atmosphere is great due to everyone having a free weekend watching some great bands it truly is a little bit special. You may not like the entire lineup due to it being mainly Radio One plugged artists, and we wouldn't blame you. However with the amount of bands set to play there's always a stage to enjoy something at.

This year they announced, literally within the past hour, that Foo Fighters would be headlining the Saturday, with My Chemical Romance topping the bill on the Sunday. Then throughout both days on the main stage there's the likes of Tinie Tempah, Plan B, Chase and Status, Ellie Goulding, Jessie J, Black Eyed Peas, Nicole Sherzinger, Professor Green, Katy B, The Wombats, The Script along with a few others. That's just the main stage, throughout the week the other stages will be announced on numerous Radio One shows so keep your eyes peeled as we'll update this as and when. You can see the announced line up so far over here. Tickets are often given out in a raffle style way, or to loyal listeners of Radio One, and you enter competitions and what not. It's hard to get tickets but it's definitely worth a shot for a weekend full of free music. For now why not enjoy some footage of Muse playing the weekend a few years back.

UPDATE: Lady Gaga has just been announced too! For a free festival some of its performers rival those of major UK festivals. Just sayin'.

[Listen] Ellie Goulding - "Lights" (Bassnectar Remix)

Bassnectar is never one to pass up the opportunity of turning tracks into a completely different monster. In recent years he's turned Deftones tracks into chilled out club tracks, as well as making original Jungle like tracks as we found with his upload last year "Yes".

Today though we have for you, a track he has taken from Ellie Goulding and he has chosen her track "Lights". Adding his own twist to the mix he's turned the UK songstress' track into a banger and you can check it out below in all it's glory, courtesy of the man himself via his Soundcloud Page. Enjoy. Check out the newly announced tour dates for Ellie, as she ventures accross the pond to the states, after the jump.

[Watch] Ellie Goulding - "Lights" (Video)

Take a look at the brand new video from british songstress Ellie Goulding who had one hell of a 2010 and a rise to fame with the release of her hit single "Starry Eyed". As we mentioned a few times towards the end of last year she released a deluxe version of her album titled Bright Lights which you can pick up now. This is the sixth single from Lights or the second from the re-release. A new album is looking likely for a 2011 release. Hat tip to Disco Naivete for this.

[Listen] Ellie Goulding - "Only Girl" (Rihanna Cover in Radio 1 Live Lounge)

Earlier today british singer songwriter and all round nice girl, Ellie Goulding, dropped into Radio One and played a Rihanna cover in the form of "Only Girl". Performed in BBC's Radio One Live Lounge for Fearne Cotton earlier today its pretty damn good, and I'm usually one not to enjoy her voice too much. Ellie puts her own twist on it and adds some strings in for added depth and feeling.

As we've previously mentioned she re-released her successful debut Lights as Bright Lights and with that came a bunch of extras, includng "Human" which you can hear over here. Enjoy her impressive RiRi cover down below courtesy of ArjanWrites.
