[Listen] Feist x Mastodon's Record Store Day Single

Last year on one fateful evening in the UK, Mastodon and Feist happened to be playing the same night on Later... with Jools Holland. Eyes met across the room and rumours began as to the two releasing a split of some kind. Fast forward to the here and now and Tomorrow is a very big day for a lot of music fans. It's Record Store Day. Feist and Mastodon, nicely coined as Fesitdon have now offered up the tracks they are releasing tomorrow via a 7". Mastodon tackle the Metals featuring track "A Commotion" while Feist takes on Mastodon's "Black Tongue" from The Hunter. This is very high on my shopping list for tomorrow! See what you make of the two impeccable covers below via LBYB.

The wonderful and sultry Feist paid a visit to Jay Leno to perform her Metals featuring track, "The Bad In Each Other". The passionate performance just goes to enhance the reasons you should have this album in your life. The performance features a rather large backing band including a brass section making for a huge rendition of the track. On a side not is everyone a little excited to hear her release with Mastodon next weekend for Record Store Day? I know I'm going to be trying to cop it! For more details on who is releasing some goodies next weekend jump over here after enjoying the performance at the top via The Audio Perv.

[Watch] Feist - "Bittersweet Melodies" (Official Video)

In what could easily be the subject of a Tumblr blog, Feist's new video for "Bittersweet Melodies" places pictures of people in the present with identical pictures from their childhood. The photographs and mood established by Argentinian photographer Irina Werner is one of melancholic happiness, one that anyone feels upon seeing pictures from their childhood. It's fitting imagery for the song, so check it out above.

Feist's fourth studio album Metals is out now via Cherrytree.

[Watch] Feist - "The Bad In Each Other" (Official Video)

Today, Feist let loose the official video for the song "The Bad In Each Other," which was featured on her latest LP Metals. The video was directed by Martin de Turah in Mexico, and, as the artist explained via Twitter, the video is a look into how we interact as human beings. Take a look at the video in the player above, and below you can read Feist's full explanation of the video's message:

This video captures glimpses of something human. We get a peek inside something real between people. Could be loss, longing and love. A lot of things which is about being a human being….It is told in a way where it opens up more aspects than it concludes. Maybe something we can’t grasp, but it points at it or touches it and leaves us with different kinds of emotions. You could think about the video like a song or a poem, and different people will connect to different things …and those connections might be different from time to time when they watch it…"

[Watch] Feist Covers Guns N' Roses' "November Rain"

During a recent show in Mexico City, Feist took to the stage in support of her recently released album Metals. While on stage, Feist and her band performed a surprise cover of Guns N' Roses' classic hit "November Rain." In the midst of the cover, a Slash look-a-like showed up during the song's memorable guitar solo, and all that before Feist absolutely destroys a piñata. Now that's what I call an awesome performance. You can check out all the piñata smashing action in the player above, via Consequence of Sound.
