[Listen] Jack White - "Machine Gun Silhouette"

An eager Jack White fan has posted the b-side on the "Love Interruption" single release, which is out today on Third Man Records. Definitely prefer the more upbeat vibe to this song over the A-side, but both are solid nonetheless. As April 23rd crawls its way here for his upcoming debut solo album Blunderbuss we can only expect and hope that ol' Jackie to have some surprises tucked up his sleeves for us along the way.

Make sure you head over to the Third Man Records store to grab a copy of "Love Interruption/Machine Gun Silhouette" for yourself.

[Listen] Jack White - "Love Interruption"

So, in between bidding on Elephant heads and being totally awesome offering once in a life time opportunities to kids and running a record label, Jack White has found time to record himself a solo LP! Oh yes, Blunderbuss will be released April 24 on Third Man Records/ Columbia and today you can stream the first sample of what we can expect from the man in the form of "Love Interruption".

A vinyl version of the "Love Interruption" single featuring exclusive non-LP B-side "Machine Gun Silhouette" will be released February 7 on Third Man Records but if you're eager to get your hands on some TMR vinyl it's available now for pre-order.

The album was produced by the man himself and recorded at his very own Third Man Studio in Nashville. Talking of the album Jack said:

an album I couldn't have released until now. I've put off making records under my own name for a long time but these songs feel like they could only be presented under my name. These songs were written from scratch, had nothing to do with anyone or anything else but my own expression, my own colors on my own canvas.

[News] Alabama Shakes Announce Debut Album: 'Boys & Girls'

All you could hear at CMJ last October was praise for Alabama Shakes so it comes as very welcome news that they've announced their debut album. I'm sure Justin Vernon and Adele will be pretty stoked about the news too! Titled Boys & Girls, the 11-track effort was recorded and mixed at The Bomb Shelter in Nashville, Tennessee and was it'll be a self produced affair too. It's set for release on April 10th but you can stream a the single "Hold On" below 3 months prior to the albums release!

As well as that, Jack White is set to release a two-song 7″ single with the band which is looking likely to be later this month (January) on Third Man Records. Hat tip to Sami at RiOB for the heads up on this.

[Watch] Danger Mouse & Daniele Luppi - "Two Against One" Feat. Jack White (Official Video)

Here at SKoA we loved the Rome project from Danger Mouse & Daniele Luppi released last year with its feeling of times gone by and a clear 60's throwback vibe. Good job as that was the purpose of the project! Now, Antiquiet points us in the direction of this lovely looking hand drawn animation by Anthony Francis Sheppard for a highlight from the album, "Two Against One". The Jack White featuring track was a personal favourite and I'm sure many of yours too. Directed by Chris Milk dthe video is viewable at the top. Regarding more news on the collaborative project,  Milk said this video is just a snippet of what's to come. Peep what he said below:

"Myself, Brian (aka Danger Mouse), and the producers Anthony Bregman (Eternal Sunshine) and Megan Ellison (True Grit), are currently developing the Rome project into a theatrical feature film. While the video for “Two Against One” is hand-drawn cell animation, the film would be live action. The music video is essentially the fever dream of the antagonist of the story. It’s mostly his backstory, his life before the tale we see in the movie. If you have a fast computer with Chrome installed you can also see the interactive lucid dream of the protagonist at www.Ro.me. These pieces are sort of narrative breadcrumbs that lead you to the eventual larger story. More to come soon.”

[Listen] Jack White - "Love is Blindness" (U2 Cover)

As we mentioned last month UK music magazine Q have put together a compilation album to celebrate the anniversary of U2's Achtung Baby turning 20. Today, Radio 2 premiered Jack White's take on the track "Love is Blindness" and damn you got to love Jack and the way he attacks this full frontal with his plastic guitars and old school methods. He makes the 20 year old track his own and adds in his signature guitar tone whilst leaving in tact enough of Bono and Co's original to make you realise it was once, and always will be a U2 track. Check it out below and peep the full cover album's track-listing after the jump.
