How are you feeling today? Settling back into the monotonous routine of the day job once more? Sad isn't it. Well don't sweat it as hopefully this will perk you up a little this Humpday. Late Night with Jimmy Fallon has had some pretty solid bookings since the year started and last night was no exception with The War on Drugs stepping into the studio. With a little help from ?uestlove on drums the performance can be enjoyed at the top of the page courtesy of The Audio Perv.

Last night the late night TV entertainment kept coming with a few note worthy performances. First up we have Surfer Blood who returned to the screens of many homes via Jimmy Fallon with a performance of "Miranda" taken from last year’s EP Tarot Classics. For all of you longing for more material from these guys J-Fal states that they’re currently working on a major label debut, so cut 'em some slack. You don't want to rush these things. For now, enjoy their performance at the top of the page courtesy of The Audio Perv.
The good stuff just keeps on coming on the late night circuit over the pond and last night Wild Flag paid a visit to the Russell Brand impersonator of the moment, Jimmy Fallon. Whilst there they put in a rousing performance of "Short Version" and you can relive the magic up at the top via the newly named BPM (formerly 130BPM). People outside of the US may need to put in some proxy trickery to watch it but trust me it's worth it.
This coming Monday, January 9th, West Palm Beach rockers Surfer Blood will be making the debut appearance on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, where they will perform their newest single "Miranda" from their recently released Tarot Classics EP. Along with this announcement, the band announced a five-show series of West Coast tour dates. Starting on February 21st in San Diego, CA, the short California tour will take the band to Santa Ana, Santa Barbara, Visalia, and finally San Francisco on February 25th. As well, Surfer Blood is currently in the studio working on their highly anticipated sophomore album with the help of Phil Ek, who has worked with the likes of Fleet Foxes and Built To Spill. The album is expected to drop later this year via Kanine/Warner Bros. Records.
As we look forward to her third LP, Tramp, last night Sharon Van Etten made it a evening to remember with another note worthy late night performance. Making her network TV debut on Fallon she performed "Serpents" much to the delight of many. Us included. Peep it at the top via The Audio Perv.
Tramp will be on shelves come the 7th of February courtesy of the more than trustworthy Jagjaguwar!
Ohhhh yeah, last night Jimmy Fallon set the bar high for the rest of the year with a visit from Black Star aka the pairing of Mos Def and Talib Kweli. Performing alongside The Roots they put in performances of two tracks from their Aretha Franklin inspired mixtape. For the masses watching at home they performed "You Already Knew" whilst J-Fal also upped a web exclusive performance of "Little Brother". Give the Former a look at the top whilst the web exclusive performance is viewable after the jump. Many thanks to the ever trusty Audio Perv for the video support.
Offering up something a little different for the masses last night, Jimmy Fallon presented his viewers with a musical gift from Rufus Wainwright. He appeared on the late night slot to perform "Minuit Chrétiens" originally by Placide Cappeau. Sound familiar? You may recognise it as the better known Christmas carol "O Holy Night". Fun piece of pub-quiz knowledge: "O Holy Night" was technically the second piece of music to ever be played on radio way back in 1906 courtesy of Canadian inventor Reginald Fesseden (that bit I Googled), the 1906 part I learnt recently at an actual Christmas pub quiz! Whatever, enough facts and fun, hit play at the top and enjoy Rufus' performance courtesy of The Audio Perv.
