It takes quite a lot to keep me up after 10PM on a work night these days. Some might say I'm a boring mother effer who just likes to sleep a lot, and you'd be right. But one reason I will always try and make time for is Later... with Jools Holland. Especially when one of the only bands to have me excited for some new music at the moment are performing. I don't mean music in general. I mean a band that are just starting to make waves with only a handful of songs under their belt, and that band for me right now is Royal Blood. The two piece took to the late night TV slot and performed with gusto, a rendition of "Little Monster" that just about had me foaming at the mouth. It could be that lack of sleep does that to me though, who knows. These guys are going places. Swagger and groove that will rock you right into next week, and that bass work is just divine. Check out their incredible performance below and look out for more later in the week.

We introduced you to Palma Violets back in August via their highly infectious single "Best of Friends" and they've gone from strength to strength. With that in mind, last night they were one of the guests on Later... with Jools Holland and performed that aforementioned catchy track and they put in a stellar performance. It was energetic and attention grabbing from start to finish.
The band also announced yesterday that their debut album is set for release on February the 25th next year and they're recording it with Pulp's Steve Mackey. Watch this space.
It's been a solid line-up of guests this season for Later... with Jools Holland and last night's mid-week broadcast didn't disappoint either. British viewers got to enjoy the sensual vocals of The Weeknd who performed his track "Wicked Games" which featured on the recently released Trilogy. Rewatch the magic up at the top.
Tonight on Radio One, Zane Lowe will be playing back a live session from Abel too that was recorded earlier in the week and the legendary Maida Vale studios so look out for that tomorrow too.
Tame Impala performed another track on the extended Friday edition of Later... With Jools Holland following up their great performance of "Elephant" earlier in the week. This time we get to enjoy "Feels Like We Only Go Backwards" from their album Lonerism too and it was just as great a way to end a week as it is to start one so hit play and check it out up at the top. Happy Monday.
Last Tuesday evening we got to enjoy Biffy Clyro drop by for the first broadcast of Later... with Jools Holland and they performed recent single "Stingin' Belle". On Friday the band performed another two songs from their forthcoming album Opposites. They performed the newly unveiled "Black Chandelier" and the double LP's title track "Opposites". A slower number that tugs on the heart strings a little. You can check that out after the jump with the new single "Black Chandelier" up at the top.
The band are set to embark upon an arena tour in 2013 following the release of their album on January the 28th.
Last week music fans got an extra special treat when Foals visited the BBC studios and Later... with Jools Holland. They debuted a brand new track titled "My Number" on the show which is a different beast compared to "Inhaler" but equally brilliant. After the jump you can enjoy that aforementioned track "Inhaler", one of my personal favourite tracks from recent months actually, which is why it ended up in the latest SKOA mixtape.
The band are preparing to release a new album Holy Fire on February 13th on Sub Pop. I'm sure we'll hear a few more tracks before then.
The wonderful Natasha Khan or as she's better known in these parts, Bat For Lashes, was also a guest on Later... with Jools Holland last night and she performed her track "Laura". Taken from her latest release The Haunted Man, Natalie puts in a tantalising performance that I could not take my eyes off of. See if it evokes the same reaction from you by hitting play at the top.
Soundgarden are preparing to drop their first album in over 15 years in the shape of King Animal on November 13th via A&M. To get the promotional ball rolling, last night they were in the UK and visited the BBC studios for a performance on Later... with Jools Holland. They performed two tracks, first up at the top you can enjoy "Been Away For Too Long" taken from the upcoming album. After the jump you can watch them perform "Rusty Cage" taken from their 1992 release, Badmotorfinger. Another performance will appear online after the full show is broadcast on Friday so look out for that at the weekend.
The band are currently streaming their new album on iTunes.
