Unless you were living under a big fat f'in rock yesterday you probably witnessed the internet explode at the prospect of a "Nirvana reunion" featuring Paul McCartney. Well it kind of did happen and didn't tarnish Nirvana in any way. I wouldn't exactly call it a reunion though, just an all star cast of musicians rocking out in a live setting. Paul is on stage and describes being invited to a "Jam session" and that's exactly what I'd call it. Dave Grohl, Krist Novoselic along with Pat Smear joined McCartney on stage at the all-star 12.12.12 Concert for Sandy Relief and performed a track they've titled "Cut Me Some Slack" live for the first time ever. Just watch it and hit play above. Pretty fucking cool if you ask me, I could watch Dave smash a kit all day.

It's not been a bad year for Nirvana fans the world over. With the celebrations for Nevermind's 20th anniversary still playing heavy on our heads comes another treat for fans. Boston radio station WFNX have uncovered a gem of a recording from back on April 18th 1990, a show that apparently had 60-75 people in the crowd. The gig took place at a club called Man Ray in Cambridge, Massachusetts, however the club is no more so this in itself is a little piece of gold let alone Check out the full stream below.
The Nirvana/Nevermind goodness just keeps on coming and so it should. That album changed the way people perceive music. It led to hundreds of copycat bands spreading their wings a little and 20 years on it still sounds like it could be a fresh as hell album ready to drop next week. In that vein, Dave Grohl, Krist Novoselic and Butch Vig dropped by to have a chat with Jon Stewart of The Daily Show about the seminal album and courtesy of The Audio Perv you can check out the aforementioned chat at the bottom.
Continuing the 20th anniversary celebrations of the seminal Nirvana album, Nevermind, you can watch the full Paramount Theatre show from 1991, which last week we got a tease from in the form of "Territorial Pissings". Remastered and in full HD the footage looks like it was shot moments ago!
The concert is to be online from 5pm so in about an hour and 30 minutes time from when this post goes live. I advise you all to take an hour of your day from 5pm GMT to watch the show. As with the Pink Floyd concert it'll be online for just 24 hours so capitalise on this opportunity ASAP! If for some reason you miss it, it will be streamed again on Halloween.
On the 26th of September the Deluxe Reissue package of Nirvana's seminal album Nevermind hits stores there'll be a barrage of material hitting the web. From unreleased tracks to unseen live footage. New old Nirvana. Sweet.
Our good friends over at 107.7 The End have uncovered some great news regarding the twentieth anniversary of Nirvana's Nevermind. Krist Novoselic is planning on holding a performance that will surely be a great tribute to the album. On September the 20th Krist along with a bunch of friends and bands will play the landmark album front to back at Experience Music Project's Sky Church in Seattle. It of course will be a perfect celebration of the 20th anniversary of Nevermind, but at the same time it'll also be a benefit for Susie Tennant a Seattle Music figure head who recently got diagnosed with breast cancer.
You can pick yourself up some tickets (available here) from just $15 for members and $20 for non-members of the Museum. With an original member of Nirvana being on the bill along with members from The Fastbacks, Vaporland, The Long Winters, Visqueen, Campfire OK, Valis (former Screaming Trees), Ravenna Woods and more to be announced soon this is sure to sell out fast. Universal will release a deluxe reissue of the iconic record on September 27th.
