[News] Danny Brown, Gold Panda and more confirmed for Beacons Festival

In mid-August, Beacons Festival will take place in Skipton, North Yorkshire. Gracing the stage will be the likes of Local Natives, Savages, Fucked Up, and Gabriel Bruce. Even more top class acts have now also been announced. Joining the line-up will be Danny Brown,  SBTRKT (DJ set), Gold Panda, Wire, Eagulls, James Holden, T. In case you missed it, Solange recently pulled out due to family commitments with her Son starting his new school year earlier than anticipated. She promises to be "back in [the] area soon enough to make up for it."


[News] SBTRKT Drops Live Album

SBTRKT released his debut live album late last week on iTunes, a 10-track effort aptly titled Live. Recorded during two lives performances at Shepherd’s Bush Empire in London this past October, the live album also includes live videos of both "Hold On"/"Migration" and "Wildfire", the former of which you can check out below.

Head here to purchase the digital version of the album, or, if you prefer the physical medium, Young Turks will be releasing a limited edition CD/DVD copy of the album. The CD/DVD run will be limited to 500.

The masked man known as SBTRKT was the latest man in the mix for the Boiler Room and he laid down a 50 minute session that features a little bit of this and a little bit of that. [Watch] Erykah Badu Performs "Appletree" Over Beat of SBTRKT's "Wildfire"

During her set at Afropunk Festival in Brooklyn this past weekend, Erykah Badu delivered an unexpected rework of her single "Appletree". Using the beat from SBTRKT's infectious minimalist dubstep track "Wildfire", Badu matched up the lyrics from her single perfectly. The result is pretty damn good. [News] SBTRKT Announces Fall Tour

After an extensive festival circuit in August and September, SBTRKT will be back Stateside in October to perform at San Francisco's Treasure Island Festival as well as a number of live shows and DJ sets on both the East and West coast. After a short hiatus (it was May when he last graced us with a new track), SBTRKT is back with a brand new cut titled "Gloss". The three-minute track is very minimalist, but it works so well in this situation. Simple synth repetitions and subtle percussion make this perfectly fitting for those late nights. [Watch] SBTRKT - "Hold On" Live for MTV

SBTRKT have been grafting for the past 12 months and recently visited MTV's PUSH Live to put in a performance of "Hold On" with a little help from Sampha. It's a smooth rendition of the track and features some nice extra percussion between the duo and Sampha at the end. Check it out at the top.
