[News] RJD2 & Aaron Livingston Announce Release of Icebird Debut Album 'The Abandoned Lullaby'

I've been waiting along time to bring you guys this announcement ever since mentioning the project last year. SKoA favorite's producer and all around nice guy, RJD2 has hooked up with vocalist Aaron Livingston who appeared on the RJD2 track "Crumbs Off The Table" from last year's album The Colossus, and have formed the psychedelic rock/soul duo known as Icebird. The duo have announced that their debut LP, The Abandoned Lullaby, is set to be released via RJ's Electrical Connections label on October 11 and the album's first single (which I've had the pleasure to listen to and will not stop being played multiple times a day) "Going and Going. And Going" will debut and be released next week.

Talking to Xlr8r about his new project, RJ states, "It is truly a best-of-both-worlds collaboration. More than as a player, singer, or engineer, production is my strongest suit. And Aaron is truly one of the most unique, clever, and gifted singers I've ever had the pleasure of working with. The two elements complement each other perfectly." From what I've heard so far, the album is definitely one of my favorite releases of 2011 and we can't wait until the full LP drops fall along with the upcoming tour to follow.

Take a listen to the first unofficial Icebird track, "Crumbs Off The Table" below and check out the album's artwork and full tracklisting after the jump.
