[Watch] St. Vincent performs "Cheerleader" on Conan

Kicking off this week's late night performances is St. Vincent, who visited the set of Conan to perform the song "Cheerleader" from her latest LP Strange Mercy. But, before performing a fantastic live rendition of the track, St. Vincent launched into Elvis Costello's "Radio Radio" only to stop and say, “I’m sorry ladies and gentlemen, there’s no reason to play that song.” The move, while perhaps unknown to many, was actually a witty acknowledgment of Costello's infamous 1977 Saturday Night Live performance, of which you can read about here. In the player above, you can watch the entirety of St. Vincent's performance, courtesy of The Audio Perv.

As well, St. Vincent will be performing at this year's Coachella Music Festival, and will also be co-headlining a series of shows alongside Merrill Garbus, aka the brains behind tUnE-yArDs.
