I hate to admit that this was nearly the fate for The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart. As luck would have it, however, the musical universe was just waiting for this day and this song to introduce me into their world. Out this coming Tuesday (10/9) on 7", their a-side cover of the Magnetic Fields song "Jeremy" was built for sunny Fridays after a long week of humidity and stupid amounts of rain as my fellow New Yorkers and I have been enduring all week. Somewhere in between the shimmery strums of the guitars, the subtle percussion, and the sugary sweet harmonies you will feel all the weight of a rough week fall off and your whole body starts to feel ligther almost instantly.
For those picking up the 7" courtesy of Play It Again Sam next week will also be able to enjoy their cover of East River Pipe's "My Life Is Wrong" on the b-side. For now, enjoy "Jeremy" below.
