[News] Kanye West's 'Cruel Winter' is "more of a rumor", Solo Album Likely
Ever since G.O.O.D. Music's Cruel Summer was released last summer, there have been rumors of a seasonal pairing to the album titled Cruel Winter. G.O.O.D. Music artists have mentioned it, there were even teases of an accompanying documentary, but it seems all that was for nothing and Kanye West has moved past the idea. When asked by Vulture about the project, Common stated, "I don't think that's happening. It was more of a rumor — cats been creating, but everybody's been doing their solo album. So that's what that is."
Since Common is so sure that Cruel Winter isn't happening, it would make sense that Kanye is working on something else, right? Fake Shore Drive, a rap blog based in Chicago, hints at this, saying, "All I know is that there’s a gaggle of G.O.O.D. people in Paris right now working on something, and that something is likely Kanye’s album." If this is true, we may even see a new Kanye West solo album later this year.
[Watch] Check Out the Trailer for Kanye West's 'Cruel Winter' Short Film
Following the release of the so-so Cruel Summer, members of G.O.O.D. Music have been hinting at a possible follow-up titled, wait for it, Cruel Winter! Sarcasm aside, Kanye West plans to make an accompanying documentary also entitled Cruel Winter, and the trailer for the short film hit the web today. The film will be directed by Austin Christianson and features some biocentric visuals—just think lots and lots of trees. Watch the trailer above (via Hypetrak).
UPDATE: The trailer has been confirmed as being unaffiliated with Kanye West or G.O.O.D. Music, as Austin Christianson, the director of the short clip, said to Forbes: "Without getting into many details, I will say that the trailer was independently made and the video is essentially a concept trailer... It's used for pitching an idea and/or concept to a client." It seems Christianson just wanted to get Kanye's attention, and I'm sure it worked. More details to come.

[News] Kanye's G.O.O.D. Music Album Due Out in September
Kanye West albums are no strangers to delays, hell, both My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy and Watch the Throne were both delayed numerous times. It shouldn't come as a surprise, then, that the G.O.O.D. Music album Cruel Summer has been pushed back from its previous August 7th release to September 4th (via Def Jam). Mark your calendars, but be wary, chances are it could get delayed again, but at that point they would need to change the name of the album to Cruel Fall or even Cruel Winter.
