[Download] Pixies 'Coachella '04' EP
2004 was a significant year for Coachella because it saw the just-reunited Pixies perform a phenomenal set, and, given that 11 years had passed since the band's breakup and their performance at the famed festival, it's a standout moment in the band's history. Fitting then that they have released a free EP titled Coachella '04 to tide everyone over between the two weekends of this year's Coachella. The EP includes live recordings from the '04 set, including “U-Mass,” “Monkey Gone To Heaven,” “Hey,” and “Caribou.” Download it for the cost of an email address below.
[Download] Star Slinger - "Bad Bitches" Feat. Stunnaman x Lil B
Star Slinger takes to his Soundcloud page yet again to offer up another musical treat for the senses, and guess what it's entirely free! The track features Star Slingers smooth and admirable production for a sample heavy beat featuring Stunnaman and Lil B laying down some bars. A very, very nice track from a talent that just keeps on giving. I'm sure we won't have to wait too much longer until we get some more top class music from Darren.
[Watch & Download] Byron - "Don't Judge A Book" (Video) x EP Download
Something about Byron's "Don't Judge A Book" reminds me of the way Mike Skinner used to tell stories on albums like A Grand Don't Come For Free. Having said that, it's not surprise that the Slough-based wordsmith is a former English teacher. His delivery is speedy and articulate and his stories are packed with a razor-sharp wit.
Byron is currently offering his latest EP Deep Lyrics Dirty Beats Pt. 2 as a free download. You can grab it over here.

[Listen x Download] Memoryhouse - "The Kids Were Wrong"
Toronto-based dream pop duo Memoryhouse are gearing up to release their debut studio album The Slideshow Effect on February 28th via Sub Pop. The album, produced by Memoryhouse's own Evan Abeele, is the follow up to their 2010 EP The Years, and sees the band "heading toward a new clarity in composition as well as sound; a more organic direction for artists who are, in their own words, transitioning from a ‘bedroom recording project’ into a fully realized band." Today, we get our first listen of what the duo has to offer for their first studio effort with the song "The Kids Were Wrong," which premiered today on The Fader. The track is simple, but that's not a bad thing. The dreamy combination of vocals, soft drums, and catchy yet carefree guitar riffs makes for a song that seems more fitting for a warm summer day. Despite the fact that it's winter time, the song is definitely worth checking out, so download it or give it a listen below.
