[News] Mastodon Announce UK Tour
'Bout time! Mastodon have announced a UK tour in support of their recently released album The Hunter. They'll play 6 dates across the UK in February 2012 playing some pretty decent sized venues. Starting out at Bristol's O2 Academy on February 5th finishing up at London's O2 Brixton Academy on the 11th. Peep the dates below and look out for tickets when they go on sale this Friday, October 14th at 9am.

[Listen] Massive Attack and Burial Collaborate on Two-Song Single

As reported by Pitchfork, Massive Attack and Burial, two of the UK's biggest names in electronic music, have collaborated for a two-song 12" single, set for release on October 17th via Inhale Gold/the Vinyl Factory. On one side of the single will be a rework of "Paradise Circus," a track that was included on Massive Attack's 2010 LP Heligoland, and on the other will be a brand new track titled "Four Walls." Both songs will be almost 12-minutes long, and you can listen to the entirety of "Four Walls" below.
Only 1,000 copies of the 12" will be made, and will be packaged in gold glitter screen-printed sleeves, which you can see above. You can order the 12" from Massive Attack's website.

[News] R.I.P. Bert Jansch

Earlier this morning, famed Scottish folk singer Bert Jansch passed away after a long and arduous fight with lung cancer. As BBC reports, he passed early in the morning at the age of 67.
Born in Glasgow, Scotland, the musician released his self-titled debut in 1965 and went on to release over 20 more albums over the course of 40 years. In 1967, Jansch went on to co-found the band Pentangle, and went on to record with them until 1973.
After leaving Pentangle, Jansch continued to release solo albums and has influenced many musicians over the years, including Johnny Marr and Graham Coxon. His last album, The Black Swan, was released in 2006 and led to him supporting Neil Young on tour.

The Singles Collection: 2011-2011 will include 15-tracks spanning all three of their studio albums, as well as two remixes by Ed Case & Sweetie Irie and Soulchild.
The Singles Collection: 2011-2011 is due out on November 29th via EMI's Virgin Records, and the collection will be available in digitally, in standard CD form, two-disc CD/DVD combo, and as a double vinyl LP. [News] Frank Ocean Announces Solo Tour Dates

While Frank Ocean spent the majority his onstage time this year alongside his fellow Odd Future crew, there has been no word on whether or not he would be putting on a solo show. But, that will change next month when Ocean will be putting on three solo performances. Dates have been announced for New Orleans, New York City, and Los Angeles, on November 5th, 6th and 15th, respectively. Tickets are available to buy now on Ticketmaster.

[News] Queen of the Stone Age Re-Issuing 'Lullabies to Paralyze'
Living legends that are Queen of the Stone Age have had a pretty impressive year. Sets at Glastonbury and performing their self titled album to thousands upon thousands of people the world over they've now brought more good news to fans. They're to re-issue 2005's Lullabies to Paralyze. The album featured guest spots from ZZ Top's Billy Gibbons slaying it on guitar and who can forget to mention the belly shaking vocals of Mark Lanegan. A great album from a great band and Buy These Records points out that the band will release 1000 copies of the re-issue in sexy ass red vinyl while the rest will be in standard sexy ass black. It's QOTSA it'll be sexy no matter what. Each vinyl will come with an etched d-side though which has me wanting it already. It looks like it's released today and I just copped it over here. Swedish techno artist Axel Willner, aka The Field, recently released his third studio album Looping State of Mind, and to support the album he will be going on tour throughout North America. Starting on October 20th in Chicago, The Field will hit up thirteen different cities across the continent, finishing off in Vancouver on November 5th. From there, the artist will head over to England for ATP Nightmare Before Christmas.
