[News] Memoryhouse Announce Debut Album

Today, Toronto dream pop duo Memoryhouse, consisting of Evan Abeele and Denise Nouvion, announced the name and release date for their debut studio album, the follow-up to their 2010 EP The Years. The album, which is titled The Slideshow Effect, is set for release on February 28th via Sub Pop. Produced by Memoryhouse's own Evan Abeele, with assistance from Barzin Hassani Rad, the album will see the duo “heading toward a new clarity in composition as well as sound; a more organic direction for artists who are, in their own words, transitioning from a ‘bedroom recording project’ into a fully realized band.”

[News] Nardwuar the Human Serviette Set to Release Album in March

When I first saw this story circling around a few days ago I couldn't quite wrap my head around it. It's hard to deny Nardwuar has incredible interview skills and his research methods are unique; some of the things he finds/knows about the artists that he interviews is insane. N.E.R.D.'s Pharrell enjoyed his interview so much he rang Jay-Z and told him that he had to get an interview with Nardwuar whenever he visited town. That did happen once upon a time, and even though Jay-Z looked to be a little too high to fully respect the effort put in by the Human Serviette, it was still insane to see.
To the story in hand, Nardwuar is planning to release a collection titled Busy Doing Nothing and it'll feature new music from the likes of Franz Ferdinand & The Cribs. Two UK bands I'm eager to hear new material from. As well as them, party lover Andrew W.K. will be on the release and Kate Nash too. Nardwuar’s own band The Evaporators are also set to appear on the collection. It's set for release on the 6th of March via Mint Records
If you're unaware of who the heck this Nardwuar is take a look at the video after the jump in which he chats with Pharrell and Shay of N.E.R.D.

[News] Bob Dylan Tribute Album: 'Chimes of Freedom' Tracklist Feat. QOTSA, My Morning Jacket, Pete Townshend & More
In celebration of Amnesty International's 50th Anniversary, a collection of Bob Dylan covers has been put together and is set for release in January on the 24th to be precise. The full tracklist has appeared and it's frikkin' crazy! Like good crazy and absurd crazy, you know?! It'll be a 72 track monster compiling 4 discs and a host of talent from the world of music. It also throws a few weird number sin but hey, you gotta take the good with the bad.
Chimes of Freedom: The Songs of Bob Dylan Honoring 50 Years of Amnesty International will include covers from the likes of Queens of the Stone Age who take on "Outlaw Blues" from 1965's Bringing It All Back Home. My Morning Jacket tackle "You’re A Big Girl Now", Mariachi El Bronx add their fine acoustic goodness to "Love Sick". The Who’s Pete Townshend tackles the crooner number "Corrina, Corrina" and Cage the Elephant do "The Lonesome Death of Hattie Carroll". Now, thrown into the mix we have Miley Cyrus covering Blood on the Tracks' "You’re Gonna Make Me Lonesome When You Go". The one I really don't want to see covered in glitter and crap is "Don't Think Twice it's Alright" but that's been taken up by none other than Ke$ha. KE$SHA!? But still, this compilation will definitely be worth a listen. The full track listing of pure awesome can be found after the jump via CoS.

Red Hot Chili Peppers are going to be promoting their new release I'm With You for the foreseeable future, which makes sense, it's what many huge acts as themselves do these days. Release an album tour for at least a year, rinse and repeat. However, they're also offering fans that may go to shows, or miss out a chance to pick up a piece of memorabilia in the shape of a live recording. CraveOnline points out that the band are following in the footsteps of the Pixies and offering bootlegs of their new shows for download.
They come at a small price though. Over on LiveChiliPeppers.com you can purchase bootlegs of the last eight shows from the Chili Peppers’ current European tour with more to follow. You can grab MP3 downloads for a s little as $9.95 and FLAC/Apple Lossless for just $12.95.
