[News] Dave Grohl Confirms Foo Fighters Hiatus

Over the weekend there was a lot of speculation that lengendary rockers Foo Fighters were on the verge of a breakup. It was all based on a comment he made in passing while perfroming in front of thousands of fans in Central Park for the Global Citizen Festival that had the internet clamoring for clarification. Today front man Davie Grohl finally took to the internet to set the record straight:
"Hey everyone...
Dave here. Just wanted to write and thank you all again from the bottom of my heart for another incredible year. (Our 18th, to be exact!) We truly never could have done any of this without you...
Never in my wildest dreams did I think Foo Fighters would make it this far. I never thought we COULD make it this far, to be honest. There were times when I didn't think the band would survive. There were times when I wanted to give up. But... I can't give up this band. And I never will. Because it's not just a band to me. It's my life. It's my family. It's my world.
Yes... I was serious. I'm not sure when the Foo Fighters are going to play again. It feels strange to say that, but it's a good thing for all of us to go away for a while. It's one of the reasons we're still here. Make sense? I never want to NOT be in this band. So, sometimes it's good to just... put it back in the garage for a while...
But, no gold watches or vacations just yet... I'll be focusing all of my energy on finishing up my Sound City documentary film and album for worldwide release in the very near future. A year in the making, it could be the biggest, most important project I've ever worked on. Get ready... it's coming.
Me, Taylor, Nate, Pat, Chris, and Rami... I'm sure we'll all see you out there... somewhere...
Thank you, thank you, thank you...
Dave"
And there you have it. I'm honestly not shocked that they're going to take a break. They all have their wives, babies, and other projects to tend to. I'm just REALLY glad that I managed to snag tickets at the last minute and be there for what may be the last Foo Fighters show evar.
[News] The Black Keys Discuss the Year Ahead

The Black Keys have been consistently busy for quite some time, with three albums in four years and no plans on slowing down. When speaking to radio station KROQ, Patrick Carney revelead the band's plans for the next year, including a new album and supporting tours. Here's what Carney said:
We’re going to start making a new album in January and we’re going to tour a little more in the spring. Our plan is to have the new album done by the end of spring or earlier, then hopefully take a few months off to do normal things like go to bed early and wake up early, walk the dog, that kind of stuff. Then we’ll probably be back on the road starting next fall."
Carney continued, speaking on the band's friend and collaborator Danger Mouse:
I talked to him [Danger Mouse, aka Brian Burton] on the phone a couple weeks ago to see what his schedule is like. If we ever work with a producer, it’s always going to be him. We’ve been working with him since 2007, since Attack & Release, and we’re all really good friends. But he’s also really busy, producing so many records lately, so hopefully he has time. He’s producing U2′s record – that takes priority over us! [Laughs.]"
Here's hoping Carney and Auerbach can pry Danger Mouse away from U2 long enough to produce their new album.

[Listen] Preview Adele's James Bond Skyfall Theme Song
The James Bond franchise has been a staple of the UK film scene for decades, with the role being thought of as a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. It's not only the role of James Bond himself that garners so much attention, but the unique theme songs associated with each film in the franchise as well. Jack White has done it. So has Duran Duran. Hell, even Sir Paul McCartney put his talents into the theme for Live and Let Die. After months of speculation, it has been confirmed that Adele will join the esteemed ranks of those artists. The songstress wrote the theme for Skyfall with the help of Paul Epstein, which was performed and recorded with a 77-piece orchestra at Abbey Road Studio in London. Here's what Adele said of the song:
I was a little hesitant at first to be involved with the theme song for Skyfall. There’s a lot of instant spotlight and pressure when it comes to a Bond song. But I fell in love with the script and Paul had some great ideas for the track and it ended up being a bit of a no brainer to do it in the end. It was also a lot of fun writing to a brief, something I’ve never done which made it exciting. When we recorded the strings, it was one of the proudest moments of my life. I’ll be back combing my hair when I’m 60 telling people I was a Bond girl back in the day I’m sure!"
The full song will premiere at 0:07 BST on Friday, October 5th (7:07 EST on October 4th), which marks the 50-year anniversary of the film franchise. Below, you can hear a 90-second snippet of the song, as well as a trailer for the upcoming movie.
Skyfall hits theatres on October 26th in the UK and November 9th in North America.

[News] Crystal Castles Announces New LP, Drops New Single "Wrath Of God"
During the summer, Crystal Castles revealed that they would release a new album by September, but now that the month is coming to a close, there is no third album from the Toronto duo to be seen. That all changed this morning, though, when a press release announced that the pair's third LP, (III), will be released digitally on November 5th and physically on November 6th. The press release also came with the official album artwork (pictured above), a striking picture that was originally taken by Spanish photographer Samuel Aranda in Yemen. Speaking on the album, which was produced entirely by band member Ethan Kath, singer Alice Glass said:
Oppression is a theme, in general… A lot of bad things have happened to people close to me since II and it’s profoundly influenced my writing as I’ve realized there will never be justice for them. I didn’t think I could lose faith in humanity any more than I already had, but after witnessing some things, it feels like the world is a dystopia where victims don’t get justice and corruption prevails."
Along with the announcement of the album, the duo has put out a brand new single from the album titled "Wrath Of God". Preceded by the song "Plague", which now has an eery-as-hell music video, "Wrath Of God" is a dark, brooding array of synthesizers, all coming together in a pounding, pulsating apex. Stream and download the song below, and after the jump you can check out the band's recently updated tour schedule.

[News] Chapel Club Launch Unique Remix Project
Last year we saw Chino Moreno's project Crosses urge fans to remix their music. This year we have something in a similar vein yet also a little different at the same time. Chapel Club are launching a remix project in which they're asking fans to remix a new track titled "Good Together". All pretty normal so far. The added bonus though is that whoever creates a remix can sell it on an online outlet of their choice and keep the proceeds. Pretty cool huh?
To check out a note from the band themselves and to get involved jump over to their official website here. You can stream the full track and the stems of the song too. Get involved and if you guys make any remixes be sure to send them our way for a listen!
