[News] Willy Moon Announces UK & European Tour

Willy Moon has had a pretty impressive year, one that's sure to be topped by his 2013. That's just my opinion though... He's starting it strong though by touring across the UK and Europe starting in February/March and throughout April. Starting the year at London's XOYO on the 12th of February he'll play Birmingham, Glasgow, Manchester and Brighton in March before going on to Europe in April. All dates can be seen after the jump.

[News] The xx Announce Some Unique 2013 Live Shows

The xx have just announced some very unique sounding shows for 2013. Venues include a waterfront park in Portugal, a spooky abandoned Berlin theme park (I just can't help but think of Zombieland here) and a London palace. The band will headline the shows nightly but they will begin in the day with a full bill of acts. Check out what they said regarding the shows below:

Night + Day is a series of events, curated by us, to start in the summer of 2013. We searched high and low for unique and beautiful locations to stage these shows and picked the artists that we most respect and admire to join us. The events will run from early afternoon, with some of our favourite music (and food) to take you from day into night.

Check the dates below. And to register for a pre-order jump over here. Romy stopped by BBC 6Music earlier and you can hear her talkign about the shows below too.

The xx Night + Day shows:

Jardim da Torres de Belëm, Lisbon (May 5)
Spreepark, Berlin (May 18)
Osterley Park & House (June 23)

[News] Eminem Announced For Reading & Leeds Festival

At the end of November Reading and Leeds festival broke from their normal tradition and announced some headliners prior to the usual protocol of it happening in March right before tickets go on sale. In that they said Deftones, Alt-J, Subfocus and Boy Better Know featuring Wiley, Skepta and JME. Today they've announced another and it's a biggie. Returning to the festival for the first time since 2001, Eminem will take centre stage with a full band behind him. It's sure to be a popular addition to the festival and a highlight of the 2013 summer calendar. Others rumoured to be performing include Blur and Black Sabbath. This could shape up to be one for the books.

Pre-sale tickets are on sale now.

[News] New Phoenix Album Set for Release in April

Yes, the wait is almost over! Having been a huge fan of Phoenix for almost a decade now, I've been anticipating a day like today. After the wave of success the band had following their 2009 album Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix, the Versailles outfit is finally set to return this April with their fifth studio album.

Daniel Glass, the head of Glassnote Records, recently revealed to Rolling Stone that the band had completed recording at a Paris studio. Now, all that's left is for the band to mix and master the album. Stay tuned for more information on the as-of-yet-untitled LP.

[News] STRFKR Announce New Album, Drop First Track "While I'm Alive"

It seems like this week has been heavy on new album announcements, and indie electro outfit STRFKR (or Starfucker, as they seem unable to decide on a definite band name) are following suit, using hump day to their advantage. After giving us the amazing Reptilians back in early 2011, the Portland group has announced a follow-up titled Miracle Mile. The album will be released on February 19th via Polyvinyl, and to get you excited you can stream the first single, "While I'm Alive".

"While I'm Alive" is all kinds of weird, but in a good way. With groovy basslines and synthesized oddities, the song captures a feeling of drug-laden dreams, as much of STRFKR's offerings do. Stream it below, and check out the full tracklisting for Miracle Mile further down.

Miracle Mile tracklisting:

1. While I’m Alive
2. Sazed
3. Malmo
4. Beach Monster
5. Isea
6. YAYAYA
7. Fortune’s Fool
8. Kahlil Gibran
9. Say to You
10. Atlantis
11. Leave It All Behind
12. I Don’t Want to See
13. Last Words
14. Golden Light
15. Nite Rite

[News] Das Racist Announce Break Up

This past weekend, Das Racist was set to perform at On3 Festival in Munich, but to the surprise of fans the only member to show up was Heems. During his "solo set", Himanshu divulged to the crowd, saying, "You guys wanna know the secret? Alright, so I’m going to do some Das Racist songs, but Das Racist is breaking up and we’re not a band anymore." Apparently hip-hop's resident goofballs have broken up.

Confirming the news was Kool A.D., who took to his Twitter to say, "for the record i quit das racist 2 months ago and was asked by our manager not to announce it yet. apparently @himanshu wanted to do it tho."

For a more detailed account, third Das Racist member Dapwell discussed the break up with SPIN.com: "I was bummed when we actually broke up, when it was done, mostly because it was a way to make money really easily. Now, I probably won’t be able to make money that easily ever again,” he said. “But we had a plan to break up around May. We had just signed this record deal and we were going to put out one proper album and then go on a farewell tour, release a proper breaking up statement that could have been really funny, maybe a weird, stupid video. Now, all of that has gone to shit." Continuing, Dapwell revealed that everyone in the band "kinda checked out and it was just about money, which some people can do, but apparently, we’re not good at doing things we don’t want to do anymore. It made everyone go crazy and get angry in such typical band fashion: guys arguing and then drinking. It’s just stupid. Because in the beginning, it was just us. We’d all hang out all the time, we all lived in this apartment together. Not that we were super friends, but sort of, you know? Really, it’s a huge opportunity squandered."

[News] Arcade Fire Debut New Material at Secret Show

Arcade Fire's album The Suburbs is over 2 years old now, and that means the band have been locked away working on some new material for quite some time. The ever reliable Arcade Fire Tube now points out that the Montreal group played a small secret show at Breakglass Studios over the weekend on Saturday night in their hometown. Exciting, right? They also used a different band name using the moniker Los Identiks and the new music was said to be "dance-y" and according to The Vine the tiny audience of about 100 people consisted of "friends, strangers, randoms". Now, the band were pretty strict with their filming policy, and no foortage actually hit the net so props to them and the crowd for staying true to that so for now all we can do is get excited. Check out a new track titled "Crucified Again" from New York in October.

We're expecting a new album from the band some time in 2013.
