[Listen] The 1975 - "You"
About a month ago we go to hear the delightful tones of The 1975 in the shape of a brand new track titled "Sex". A track which is set to feature on an EP of the same name that drops on November 19th in the UK and a day later Stateside. Today we can add another track to their ever growing list of goodness with "You", a personal tale of how you can lose friends because of ex-girlfriends and growing up in the process (via Nylon). See what you make of it below and look out for the EP in November which will be supported by a tour in December.

[Watch] The Killers - "Runaways" Live on Jools Holland
The Killers also returned the the television sets of many in the UK last night with a performance of the track "Runaways" on Later... with Jools Holland. It was a pretty energetic performance of the Battle Born featuring track and you can re-watch it at the top courtesy of the good folk at the BBC.
If you missed it a little earlier Poliça also performed in the show.
[Watch] Poliça - "Dark Star" Live on Jools Holand
Poliça's album Give Up the Ghost was floating around the internet long before it was released in February this year but it's still sounding great what seems like a year on from when I first heard parts of it. They seem to be picking up some (more) recognition in the UK at the moment and are frequenting the speakers of BBC Radio regularly. They also last night featured on this week's episode of Later... with Jools Holland and played their track "Dark Star". If you had an early night like me or maybe you just missed the show you can catch the performance at the top.
[Listen] The Shins - "Wonderful Christmastime" (Paul McCartney Cover)
Tomorrow is Halloween, that time of year when it's ok for you to leave the house dressed up as pretty much anything and not having (too many) people stare at you in a weird way. With that said, shops seem to be bringing out the Christmas stock already and just this morning on my walk to work I noticed Manchester's Xmas lights have been snuck up at some time recently. I should probably look up more often as for all I know they've been up for weeks. Anyway, we've already heard Cee Lo Green lay down a Christmas track in the "Run Rudolph Run" at the start of the month and today you can enjoy The Shins tackling Paul McCartney's Christmas staple, "Wonderful Christmastime". It's set to feature on Holidays Rule, which is available in stores and on iTunes now.
[Watch] Das Racist - "Girl" (Official Video)
We've always know Das Racist aren't ones to take life too seriously and when it came to their Blood Diamonds produced track "Girl", which sounded a little different for these guys, they've released an equally entertaining visual to sit along side it. The track featured on 2011's Relax which feels like it wasn't released all that long ago but dang this year has flown by. We've seen the result of guys stalking girls previously in Bob Dylan's "Duquesne Whistle" video but this one has a little bit of a more light hearted take from a dance crazed gent. See what happens in this take on it from the Brooklyn boys above.
[Listen] Alt-J - "Slow Dre" (Kylie Minogue x Dr. Dre Mashup)
Last weekend I witnessed my favourite gig of the year. A gig upon leaving I actually sent a text to my girlfriend and said it was in my all time top 5. A few days later, I still stand by that statement. It was flawless and it came from Alt-J who played a matinee show at Manchester's Royal Northern College of Music. The room was completely seated and from start to finish they just performed in perfect sync. Midway through the set I was impressed by a mashup they did of Dr. Dre's "Still Dre" and Kylie Minogue's "Slow". It doesn't sound like it should work but it does so damn well it's crazy. Today I was happy to see they recorded a version of it for Triple J's Like a Version segment in Australia. The results can be streamed below and you can hear a version of "Breezeblocks" over here too. Hat-tip to Hypetrak for the heads up on this recording of it!
If you haven't heard their album, An Awesome Wave, yet I advise you to do so.
[Watch] The Weeknd - "Till Dawn (Here Comes the Sun)" (Preview)
Abel Tesfaye has never been pushed aside for too long and with him readying the remastered mixtape series Trilogy which is set to drop on November 13th and will come packaged with 3 brand new tracks. Last week we got to enjoy another completely unheard track that isn't one of the aforementioned set to feature on the upcoming release. "Enemy" can be heard over here.
Up above though you can preview a new cut titled "Till Dawn (Here Comes the Sun)" which features his signature sensual vocal. Roll on November and whatever he has in his "vault".
