[Watch] St. Lucia - "September" (Video)

St. Lucia aptly pairs evocative, and often eerie, visuals with his pulsating, tribal track "September". Flashing lights connect with celestial footage, blending the two in sync with the rhythmic bass and vast array of synthesizers. Watch the clip above.

"September" is the title track from St. Lucia's September EP, which is now available.

[Listen] Mesita - "Hostages"

The ethereal and evocative sounds of Mesita, aka James Cooley, have been captivating my eardrums since he first introduced me to his music almost a year ago. "Hostages" is a great example of how Mesita refuses to restrain, to withhold emotions and sounds. He describes the song as one "about feeling frozen, paranoid, absolutely scared of yourself. You can't tell a single person or else you think the truth will spread in minutes and the life you had is ruined." This translates beautifully to the captviating tension heard throughout "Hostages", with Cooley's voice producing a believable sense of desperation and immediacy; Cooley is as enchanting as ever. Stream it below (via Prefix).

[Watch] YADi - "Blow" x "Sahara Heart" Live Session

I was introduced to YADi a few months back via a session she recorded for Hypetrak in which she performed a few tracks and I was interested from the outset. A uniquely brilliant live voice was accompanied by all London-based Algerian musicians was recorded at London's Fish Factory Studios and the results are riveting. Taking a western band set up and mixing it with traditional raï instruments I couldn't take my eyes off the screen and listened on a loop for a good hour. Today she's let loose two other recordings from that session in the shape of "Blow" and "Sahara Heart". They're up at the top and down below respectively. Get familiar and look out for a debut album next year.

[Watch] M83 - "Wait" (Video)

One final time, M83 invites us into the sci-fi-tinged post-apocalyptic world he presented with the videos for "Midnight City" and "Reunion". "Wait" is the third and final part of the video trilogy, once again directed by Fleur & Manu, and with it we continue the story of the strange superpowered children introduced in the previous videos. Conclude their story above.

(Hint: Fleur & Manu seem to be big fans of Stanley Kubrick's 2001: A Space Odyssey. Pay attention throughout the video for some nods to the sci-fi epic)

[Watch] Pulled Apart By Horses - "Epic Myth" (Official Video)

You probably know by this point that I quite like those riff heavy lads Pulled Apart By Horses and today we get to enjoy some fun visuals for their track "Epic Myth" that was actually directed by the band's very own James Brown. A weird alcohol fuelled blur in a dimly lit red bedroom is what it is. Cigars, smart clothing and a lot of weird happenings. See what you make of it above.

It's one of my favourite tracks from their album Tough Love which is out now.

[News] STRFKR Announce New Album, Drop First Track "While I'm Alive"

It seems like this week has been heavy on new album announcements, and indie electro outfit STRFKR (or Starfucker, as they seem unable to decide on a definite band name) are following suit, using hump day to their advantage. After giving us the amazing Reptilians back in early 2011, the Portland group has announced a follow-up titled Miracle Mile. The album will be released on February 19th via Polyvinyl, and to get you excited you can stream the first single, "While I'm Alive".

"While I'm Alive" is all kinds of weird, but in a good way. With groovy basslines and synthesized oddities, the song captures a feeling of drug-laden dreams, as much of STRFKR's offerings do. Stream it below, and check out the full tracklisting for Miracle Mile further down.

Miracle Mile tracklisting:
