[Watch] Chapel Club - "Good Together" (Official Video)

Chapel Club have offered up an acid trip of a video for their track "Good Together". It kind of reminds me of when M.I.A did all that crazy glitchy stuff for her ViCKi LEEKX mixtape if you know what I mean? Bright colours and kaleidoscopic effects. It's definitely a good way to test out your brains functionality on an early Monday morning. I failed the test and almost fell asleep on the keyhdjnmxckdalsboard. Before doing that thing where you jolt awake and aren't sure if you actually fell asleep or not. No-one's looking at me right now so I think I got away with it.

The band are set to play London tomorrow at Electrowerkz with one more date set so far this year for Stockton Calling in March.

[Watch] The Cribs - "Leather Jacket Love Song" (Official Video)

What were you doing back in 1997? I'd of been 8 years old and stuck in Primary School wondering why I was being made to learn long multiplication. I can honestly say to this day I've never needed it in every day life let alone the Pythagoras theorem I was taught in Secondary school. The Cribs were a little older though however, and they were in the stages of becoming a band.

They're now preparing to release a singles collection called Payola and to celebrate they've offered up the only new track to feature on the release. Titled "Leather Jacket Love Song" it comes wrapped up in a video that features the modern day Wakefield band watching the young versions of themselves performing at an actual gig. Vintage VHS footage ahoy. It's a bloody marvelous video and a very clever idea. Plus, it's always nice to hear some new stuff from these lads. Here's hoping to some UK festival dates over the summer for good measure.

Be sure to pick up a copy of Payola when it's released on February 25th. Alternatively pre-order the 22 track, career spanning mix over here.

[Watch] Bastille - "Pompeii" (Official Video)

Bastille have been gathering more and more attention over the past year and their new single "Pompeii" is highly infectious and it's also a nice feel good track to warm you up a little bit. The band are currently preparing to release their debut album titled Bad Blood and I for one am pretty hyper to hear it in its entirety. For now though, this lovely visual will suffice.

Bad Blood is set for release on March 4th while "Pompeii" will be released on February 24th.

[Listen] Cold War Kids - "Miracle Mile"

I remember being up late as a teenager and watching some show on late night TV in bed on Channel 4. I can't recall the year but I was in secondary school maybe 14-15 years old.  The show itself was a load of brand new acts breaking through and they seemed to be playing in a back yard somewhere. I remember the show well because it was my first encounter with Cold War Kids. I was since lucky enough to actually see Cold War Kids perform in a back garden back at SXSW in 2011 and it was a highlight of the week. Plus the frozen margaritas at that show were unbelievably good.

The reason I bring all this up is that the band have a special place in my heart and mind so I was happy to see news of a new album breaking yesterday. Titled Dear Miss Lonely Hearts, it's set for release on April 1st via Downtown Records. As well as that they've teased the new sounds with a track titled "Miracle Mile" which is a lovely little Friday morning listen. It's Friday for God's sake, relax a little and enjoy some new music.

[Watch] Jessie Ware Debuts "Wildest Moments" on Late Night Television

Jessie Ware's lead single for Devotion, "Wildest Moments", was one of those instantly recognizable songs of the past year, playing on radio stations everywhere and being remixed by artist after artist (although not as much as Gotye's cringe-worthy hit "Somebody That I Used To Know"). While her album has yet to see physical release here in North America, she did grace North American audiences with the debut of "Wildest Moments" on late night television. Performing the song on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, Ware was aided by The Roots and the end result was a stunning live rendition. You can watch her performance above.

Devotion is out now on iTunes and other digital retailers, and will see physical release in April.

[Watch] Ty Segall - "Thank God for Sinners" (Video)

Ty Segall has a penchant for being a weird dude, and that shows in most things he does. His new video for Twins ablum opener "Thank God for Sinners" fully embraces this weirdness, using the body parts of various people to create a fleshy visual feast. It's great, it's odd, and it's incredibly suggestive at times. But, then again, that's the point, right? It's time to strip down and get in the mood for some Ty Segall. Check out the Matt Yoka-directed clip above.

[Listen] Youth Lagoon - "Dropla"

Youth Lagoon, aka Trevor Powers, offers up the first taste of his sophomore LP Wondrous Bughouse with the single "Dropla", a quirky, atmospheric trip through the cosmos. The six-minute affair is mild at first, drawing us into the song before the intensity increases. As the tension rises, the calm, raspy vocals of Powers find a powerful emotion, all before winding down into the final two minutes of a serene, piano-driven soundscape. Stream and download the track below.

Wondrous Bughouse is out on March 5th via Fat Possum.

[Listen] Biffy Clyro - "Biblical" x "Little Hospitals"

If you read SKOA regularly you'll be well aware that I've been more than a little excited for new material from Scotland three-piece power house, Biffy Clyro. There was that support slot with Foo Fighters at Milton Keynes back in 2011... remember that? Then I was lucky enough to see them at a rather small show (for them) in London's Roundhouse just a few months back in 2012. They're new release is now set for release on January 28th and I for one am quivering with excitement.

Even more so now after hearing two sneak peaks via French Radio station RTL2. On Monday, they played three new Biffy songs in quick succession. First up was "Black Chandelier" which we're more than familiar with by now then came two glorious unheard snippets of joy. First up was "Biblical" which to me sounds a little more dancey, think Muse's "Follow Me" toned down a bit with the drum sound and you'll be half way there. It's easier to just hit play below.

Then came "Little Hospitals" and this is when the smile on my face grew ear to ear and the hairs on the back of my neck stood up. I'm legitimately still smiling while typing this. I have a feeling this album is going to launch Biffy into the stratosphere of popularity and with them supporting Muse on their American stint later in the year they're sure to gain some new fans Stateside too. Good on you lads.

To listen to the new track you can head over to the RTL website here. The new stuff starts at around 44 minutes. Hit play, skip to that mark, turn it up and let the hairs on the back of your neck rise.

Opposites is set to be released on January 28th, make sure you pick it up!
