[Download] Library Voices - "Generation Handclap"
The seven-piece indie-pop outfit Library Voices will be making the trek from Regina, Saskatchewan to Los Angeles this September to play at Hotel Cafe. To celebrate, the band is offering a download of their single, "Generation Handclap" from their 7" release back in may via Nevado Records. The song will be on the band’s upcoming full length, as well as a remix of the song by Kitchen Party.
The band is comprised of Carl Johnson (guitar, vocals), Amanda Scandrett (keyboard, vocals), Paul Gutheil (sax, vocals), Michael Thievin (drums), Brennan Ross (guitar, vocals), Eoin Hickey-Cameron (bass), and Michael Dawson (keyboard, vocals), and has included other friends and musicians along the way. The result of their combined talents is a bright-eyed, feel good rave-up that sounds like it’s been soaked in sunshine and gin sodas.
If you are in the Los Angeles area be sure to check out the band at Hotel Cafe on September 1st!

[News] The Warehouse Project Announces 2011 Lineup Incl. James Blake, Jamie XX, DJ Shadow, Aphex Twin, The Horrors & More!
If you have heard of or been to the Warehouse Project in Manchester you know that the lineup is stellar year in year out, and today is no different as the lineup for 2011 has been announced. Shwing. As expected the lineup for the 12 weeks of fun under a train station is unbelievable! Starting in September the WHP2011 will kick off with a set from DJ Shadow in his Shadowsphere on September the 17th. The madness will end on January First with New Years Day party aka a "seventeen-hour marathon taking us into 2012." The New Years day show is already sold out even though the headliner is yet to be announced!
Through from September until December Manchester will be graced by the likes of James Blake performing a live set, The Horrors will also curate a night along with the masked man SBTRKT spinning some tunes one night. Cut Copy will perform along with Nero, Calvin Harris, Skream & Benga not to forget Jamie XX who will also be performing to the pumped up crowd. In short it's the best thing you can do every weekend until 2012 in Manchester by far, and I for one will be snapping up some tickets for numerous nights ASAP. If you don't mind getting sweaty with some like minded people whilst watching sets by some of the worlds most talented record spinners, Warehouse Project is where you need to be. For full details and dates along with tickets you can head on over to the official site.
This years events will truly be the end of an era for the WHP as it will be the last time the Store Street location is to be used. In a statement the organisers said:
“After five incredible years beneath the streets, the last ever Warehouse Project event at Store Street will finish in the early hours of January 2, 2012. Within 48 hours all evidence that WHP ever existed in that space will be gone, nothing remaining to give any indication that hundreds of thousands of people passed through those doors. The idea was always to keep things fresh. And while The Warehouse Project certainly found its first proper home in this venue, it feels like when the curtain comes down on the 2011 series it will be time to shake things up again. Exactly how, where and when the WHP will return is not yet set, but one thing for sure is that this is The End of Store Street."
Year on year the organiser put on a great show and the lineup never disappoints. I think 2011's shenanigans will be one for the books. DOn't miss out and grab your tickets quick or regret it for the remainder of the year!
[News] Neon Indian Reveals Release Date of New Album, Announces Fall Tour Dates
In 2009, Alan Palomo, the mastermind behind Neon Indian, made a name for himself with his incredibly unique debut album Psychic Chasms. Since then, he has toured alongside bands such as Phoenix, Chromeo, The Flaming Lips, and Massive Attack, and has performed at numerous festivals. The 20 year old has even collaborated with Wayne Coyne of The Flaming Lips.
Last Winter, Palomo went to Helsinki, Finland to write and record his follow-up to Psychic Chasms, a darker album that has now been given a title and a release date. The album is titled Era Extraña and is described by Palomo as being "the closest you can get to feeling like you're at the edge of the earth. And there were moments where I lost sight of what I was really there to do." He has also released the video "Heart: Decay," which, along with "Heart: Attack," will be part of a three-part instrumental piece. The video, which you can watch above, shows snippets of Palomo's album making process in Helsinki. The album will be released on September 13th via Palomo's own Static Tongues label, in conjunction with Mom + Pop Music in North America, and Transgressive Records in the UK.
The artist also announced Fall tour dates throughout North America to support the release of Era Extraña, with the first show starting on September 15th in Philadelphia. You can check out all the tour dates after the jump.

[Watch] Foster The People - "Helena Beat" (Video)
Foster The People go all crazy post-apocalyptic in their video for "Helena Beat" off their release Torches. The video was directed by Ace Norton and features a world ruled by children who apparently want to torture and perform a random experiment on FTP frontman Mark Foster.
The band is currently on tour and from the looks of their tour dates (which are after the jump) they don't plan on stopping any time soon.

[Download] Still Corners - "Cuckoo"

London's Still Corners will grab onto your ears and not let go with their first single, "Cuckoo" from their upcoming debut album Creatures Of An Hour, which is scheduled for release on October 10th, courtesy of Sub Pop. Lead singer Tessa Murray delivers a dramatically breathless vocal performance that feels so effortless but yet impossible to mimic with the amount of sincerity in her voice.
The band will be playing a few dates in the UK, which you can check out while you're grabbing the song below.

06/08 - London, Field Day - London
