[Watch] Guided By Voices perform "The Unsinkable Fats Domino" on Letterman
In support of their just released reunion record Let's Go Eat the Factory, Ohio rockers Guided By Voices dropped by the set of The Late Show with David Letterman to perform a cut of "The Unsinkable Fats Domino." Despite their age, Robert Pallo and co. delivered a fantastic rendition of the song, with all the necessary energy and stage presence needed to carry a late night performance. You can check out their performance in the player above, via The Audio Perv.
Let's Go Eat the Factory is now out digitally, and will be released physically on January 17th.
[Watch] Feist Covers Guns N' Roses' "November Rain"
During a recent show in Mexico City, Feist took to the stage in support of her recently released album Metals. While on stage, Feist and her band performed a surprise cover of Guns N' Roses' classic hit "November Rain." In the midst of the cover, a Slash look-a-like showed up during the song's memorable guitar solo, and all that before Feist absolutely destroys a piñata. Now that's what I call an awesome performance. You can check out all the piñata smashing action in the player above, via Consequence of Sound.
[Watch] Childish Gambino Visits the Set of David Letterman
After performing his banger "Heartbeat," off his recently released Camp, on Conan last month, Donal Glover, aka Childish Gambino, is back at it again. Last night, Gambino visited the set of The Late Show with David Letterman to perform "Heartbeat" for the second time on late night television. The electro-thumping track saw Gambino taking things slow, before he went into full on energetic mode halfway through. Seriously, Glover's on stage persona is insanely awesome, even when he's wearing a Christmas sweater. Check out his fantastic performance in the player above, courtesy of our good friend The Audio Perv.
[News] The Beach Boys Reunite, Announce 50th Anniversary Plans for 2012
After a few rumours that'd been floating around the internet for a few months confirmation from The Beach Boys has finally come. They've announced "a global 50th Anniversary CELEBRATION in 2012". So, what can you expect from the surfers next year. Well, there'll be a brand new studio album, a 50 date tour starting in April at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival as well as special commemorative releases of their catalog via Capitol/EMI. The new LP is apparently already all recorded.
Speaking about the 50th anniversary plans Brian Wilson said that "This anniversary is special to me because I miss the boys and it will be a thrill for me to make a new record and be on stage with them again". That's pretty cool isn't it?!
More details along with statements from the band members can be found over on their official site.
[Listen] R.E.M.'s Final Christmas Gift To Fans, Two Live Recordings from 2008
Way back in 1988 R.E.M. started rewarding members of their fan-club with a special holiday release. This may have been a Christmas song, a live recording or a completely new track. The now defunct band have offered up fans one final gift from the bottom of their hearts. Late last week the band sent out some recordings from their final ever performances as a little gift. The good folk at Slicing Up Eyeballs have been kind enough to upload the aforementioned streams. First up is a recording from a London show in August, 2008 of "Perfect Circle". Secondly you can enjoy "Life and How To Live It" which was actually the penultimate song at R.E.M.’s final ever concert, ever. That show was way back in '08. Time flies huh? Anyway, happy Holidays from R.E.M.
