[News] Sleigh Bells, Santigold, Little Dragon to open for Red Hot Chili Peppers
With Red Hot Chili Peppers set to embark upon one hell of a large tour it's only right that a band of their calibre and longevity get some top notch openers for the shows, right? Well, they've definitely delivered as Pitchfork points out, Sleigh Bells, Santigold, and Little Dragon will open for the band on different dates. So, it's kind of a pot luck who'll you will get at your show but personally any of those three followed by RHCP would be a damn good gig to be at! CoS points out that Sleigh bells earned the spot after Flea attended a Sleigh Bells show. Derek Miller recently stated in an interview with The Daily:
Flea came to a show of ours at Webster Hall. I was just hanging out and someone’s like, “Hey Derek, this is Flea.” And I was like, “Oh, nice to meet you, Flea. I’ve heard of you.” And he was an extremely sweet dude. He was like, “Hey, do you want to play shows with my band, the Red Hot Chili Peppers?” And I said, “Yeah, I’ll play shows with your band. Sure. Amazing.” So we just shook hands and he was like, “All right, you’ll hear from us.” And sure enough, a couple days later it came through.
Peep all of the dates after the jump. There's a lot of 'em!

[Listen] Blur - "Under The West Way"
Blur have been busy preparing some performances leading up their Brits appearance later this week. Now, It’s Always Better On The Outside have stumbled across a live recording of Damon Albarn and Graham Coxon performing the new song at London's Shepherd's Bush Empire titled, "Under The West Way". The song was performed during a benefit concert for War Child at which numerous other artists performed. More on that later, for now enjoy some brand new Blur below.
[Watch] Sleigh Bells Visit Saturday Night Live
With all the hype surrounding the new Sleigh Bells album they kept it building with a visit to Saturday Night Live on which they performed not one, but two tracks for our enjoyment. First up they rocketed through the lead single from Reign of Terror, "Comeback Kid" and then album track "End of the Line". Peep them after the jump and pick up Reign of Terror when it drops tomorrow in the US. (Feb. 21st)
As well as the musical performances, SNL did a whole Jay-Z/Beyoncé/Blue Ivy Carter bit in which the power couple were visited by numerous celebrity friends wishing all the best. Pure comedy gold came from Prince entering in a cloud of smoke from the kitchen, Nicki Minaj doing her usual bit, Taylor Swift saying nothing and and Bon Iver’s Justin Vernon who put himself to sleep via a rather funny impression from Justin Timberlake. That too can be enjoyed after the jump.
