[News] Dead Sons Announce UK Tour
Over the New Year break I took a nice little trip to the States to hang out with Kibbe in Brooklyn. As well as drinking my body into a stupor and eating far too much I also got the chance to listen to a hell of a lot of new music. It was nice. Last year you may remember I tipped a band called Dead Sons who come from Sheffield. Whilst on Holiday one of the things I had the chance to ingest music wise was their debut album. It arrived in my inbox and I gave it more than just a few listens whilst roaming around Manhattan. It truly is awesome. Titled The Hollers & The Hymns it's not set for release until February 18th, yet but in preparation of its release the band have announced a UK tour. They've already supported the likes of Arctic Monkeys and the band members have their fair share of history between them. I'll be catching up with the lads for a chat in the coming weeks so look out for that but in the mean time, check the dates after the jump and if you've not already seen it, watch their video for "Hangman" above.

[News] The Postal Service Reunites for Coachella, Tour, and 'Give Up' Reissue
After the original speculation laid out by Brooklyn Vegan, it seems the recent rumors circulating about The Postal Service reuniting for Coachella have proven true! The band, made up of Death Cab for Cutie's Ben Gibbard and Dntel, updated their website today with the above image, more or less confirming that they will join forces for the first time in a decade.
Billboard has further fueled the fire, stating that Sub Pop is readying a deluxe tenth-anniversary edition of 2003's Give Up. The reissued album will be released sometime next month, most likely aiming for the original February 19th release date of the LP. As well, Billboard reports that "[a]dditional dates and festivals are also in the works", meaning fans will (hopefully) have plenty of chances to see The Postal Service over the course of this year.
Stay tuned for more on The Postal Service's reunion.
[Watch] Jessie Ware Debuts "Wildest Moments" on Late Night Television
Jessie Ware's lead single for Devotion, "Wildest Moments", was one of those instantly recognizable songs of the past year, playing on radio stations everywhere and being remixed by artist after artist (although not as much as Gotye's cringe-worthy hit "Somebody That I Used To Know"). While her album has yet to see physical release here in North America, she did grace North American audiences with the debut of "Wildest Moments" on late night television. Performing the song on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, Ware was aided by The Roots and the end result was a stunning live rendition. You can watch her performance above.
Devotion is out now on iTunes and other digital retailers, and will see physical release in April.
[Watch] Foo Fighters Live at Reading Festival 2012 (Full Set)
It's Monday, I'm tired and it's my Birthday. With that in mind I fancied giving you all a little gift instead of just opening them all up for myself. I can be nice like that sometimes... Foo Fighters may have just announced a little break and Dave Grohl is keeping himself busy with the Sound City Documentary but last year Dave, Taylor, Chris, Pat and Nate played pretty much every festival and arena imaginable, finishing up with sets at Leeds and Reading festival at the end of August in the UK. I was lucky enough to witness the Leeds set which will remain up there with one of my all time favorite shows. Ever. Foos were made for shows like this and they have a way of involving everyone in the crowd from the kids on the barrier to the people climbing on top of bins in the back for a better view. It's festival rock at its finest. Over the weekend though I stumbled upon this video of their entire Reading set whilst in a drunken birthday stupor.
Clocking in at over 2 hours long it features all of the usual hits and on stage shenanigans from the band along with plenty of crowd participation, not that Dave and his lungs need it. Take some time out of your day and enjoy the show. Happy birthday to me, huh.

[Listen] Local Natives - "Heavy Feet"
Local Natives recently dropped by the KCRW studio to perform for Morning Becomes Eclectic to preview songs from their second studio album Hummingbird. During the live session, the band delivered a chilling rendition of "Heavy Feet", the second single from their forthcoming LP. Upon my first hearing the song, it sent shivers down my spine, with emotional harmonies and echoing guitar plucks resonating deeply. On the other hand, it could have been the pairing of a cold apartment and shirtlessness, but that's neither here nor there.
Stream "Heavy Feet" below, with both the live KCRW version and a studio stream of the song available for your listening pleasure. Hummingbird is out on January 29th through Frenchkiss/Infectious.
