[Listen] Tokyo Police Club x Passion Pit - "Sweetness" (Jimmy Eat World Cover)
Yesterday, Tokyo Police Club announced their 10 Days, 10 Covers, 10 Years project, and, with the help of M83's Morgan Kibby, released their cover of Moby and Gwen Stefani's "Southside." Today, the band's second cover was released, and this time around the Ontario indie rockers chose Jimmy Eat World's "Sweetness." With Passion Pit frontman Michael Angelakos providing back up vocals, the band took Jimmy Eat World's 2001 hit and gave it a new twist, all the while keeping the original sound intact. You can listen to the track below, and check back tomorrow for the next installment.

[Listen] Tokyo Police Club x M83′s Morgan Kibby - "Southside" (Moby Cover)
Over the next ten days, Canadian indie rockers Tokyo Police Club will be embarking on what they call 10 Songs, 10 Days, 10 Hours, 10 Years, in which every day for the next ten days, the band will cover ten different songs, spanning, you guessed it, ten years. The first cover the band has released, courtesy of OneThirtyBPM, is of Moby and Gwen Stefani's "Southside," from Moby's 1999 album Play. The track, which you can listen to below, sees M83's Morgan Kibby taking on Gwen Stefani's role. Enjoy the first of Tokoy Police Club's ten covers, and we will keep you posted on the remaining nine.
[Listen] Feist Covers The Velvet Underground In Paris
Last month in Paris a group of talented musicians convened at the Days Off Festival in Paris and played a host of Velvet Underground tracks. As TwentyFourBit points out the band consisted of Colin Greenwood, the HotRats (which is made up of Nigel Godrich and Gaz Coombes and Danny Goffey from Supergrass), Soap&Skin and Air’s Nicolas Godin, who all pitched in for the Velvet Underground Revisited show. Taking up position centre stage for vocal duties was Feist who helped perform a great rendition of VU's "Femme Fatale". Give it a listen below via 24Bit.

[Listen] Beck - "Stormbringer" (John Martyn cover)
My heart is swelling as I write this. YOU GUYS, THERE IS A NEW BECK SONG IN THE WILD!
FakeBeck, the man who outstalks Beck better than I wish I could, has managed to dig up this John Martyn cover that he did of "Stormbringer" that's really been transformed in a way that only Beck could do to make it his own. It's very reminiscent of "Ramona" with a twinge of Sea Change mixed in. Fader previously reported that a tribute album for John Martyn (who passed away in 2009) was in the works and will be coming out on August 16th. and this track is the first on the album! Other artists that will be on the tribute album include: Snow Patrol, Robert Smith, Beth Orton, The Swell Season, Devendra Banhart, and many more.
Needless to say, my eyes are watery, my heart is happy and you will be soon as well.
Have a listen to "Stormbringer" below and feel free to gush away with me in the comments!

[Listen] Jukebox The Ghost - "Arthur's Theme (Best That You Can Do)" (Cover)
With the Arthur movie remake of the 1981 version being out for a few weeks, this cover of "Arthur's Theme (Best That You Can Do)" from the original soundtrack done by Jukebox The Ghost has surfaced. This is not to be confused with the version done by Fitz and the Tantrums that was commissioned for the official soundtrack that just dropped a few days ago.

[Listen] Wretch 32 - "Unorthodox (feat. Example)" x "Someone Like You (Adele cover)" From The BBC Live Lounge
Earlier today Wretch 32 hopped in the BBC Live Lounge with his friend Example to perform his smash of a single, "Unorthodox". While on the show, Wretch also surprised everyone with a really nice cover of Adele's "Someone Like You".
Is anyone getting tired of all the Adele covers yet? Just wondering.
Have a listen to "Unorthodox" and "Someone Like You" from the Live Lounge below.

[Listen] Manchester Orchestra - "Anytime" (My Morning Jacket Cover)
Manchester Orchestra just wrapped up a few dates in the UK and performed a 'homecoming' show on Saturday in Manchester. Doing a two hour set and 2 encores, it was pretty damn impressive as the 5 of them dealt with technical difficulties by Andy performing solo! I was surprised however, they are soon to release their new album, Simple Math, yet the only new track we got to preview live was "April Fool" (which we got a listen to at the end of March).
Today though we don't have that problem. We have a new track from the band, but not necessarily a new track all together. Manchester Orchestra have covered My Morning Jacket's "Anytime" from their 2005 album, Z. Check it out below via Alt Press. Andy spoke to AP telling them;
"After a 7 a.m. lobby call in Manchester, U.K., followed by a 10-hour flight home, I felt incredibly compelled to just cover this outstanding song. I also watched the Celtics game."
So give it a play and count the days until we get the 'official' third studio album from the guys.
