[Watch] Theme Park - "Tonight" (Official Video)

Theme Park return with a brand new video for their track "Tonight" which was produced by Friendly Fires frontman Ed MacFarlane. The track is set to feature on the self-titled debut album that we can begin to enjoy from February 25th onwards via the wonderful Transgressive Records. The video sees the boys partying on the road and generally having a rather good time from the looks of it. A better time than I'm currently having, that's for sure. See if the good feelings are infectious by clicking play above.

The band will head out in support of the album this March. Dates after the jump.

[News] MGMT Announce New LP Tentatively Due in June

Spending the past year at producer Dave Fridmann's Tarbox Road Studios outside Buffalo, New York, MGMT have been hard at work on the follow-up to 2010's Congratulations. The duo, Andrew VanWyngarden and Ben Goldwasser, recently spoke to Rolling Stone, where they revealed a tentative June release date for their third album.

When speaking on their sophomore album, VanWyngarden said, "[p]eople thought we took too many drugs, which was not the case at all. We were less naive after Congratulations." The mentalities they adopted after making Congratulations continue this time around, as the pair are recording the whole album themselves without the help of a full band. VanWyngarden and Goldwasser are picking the best aspects of their freeform jam sessions, which have apparently been inspired by Aphex Twin and other house artists.

Stay tuned to hear the fruits of their labor, but as the pair admits they are "not trying to make music that everyone understands the first time they hear it."

[News] Wavves Release New Track "Demon to Lean On", Detail New Album

Fuzzy surf pop ahoy. Nathan Williams' Wavves return with another new track and also detail new album to follow up 2010's King of the Beach. Titled Afraid of Heights it's set for release on March 26th and sounds pretty bleak in terms of content. Regarding the release Nathan said:

The general theme of the record is depression and anxiety, being death-obsessed and paranoid of impending doom. I feel like the narration is almost schizophrenic if you listen front to back; every word is important, even the constant contradictions and lack of self-worth. That’s all a part of this record-questioning everything not because I’m curious, but because I’m paranoid."

Sample "Demon To Lean On" below. It follows up the already teased "Sail To The Sun" and you can hear the darkness of the lyrics creeping through already. The LP is available for pre-order now, make the jump for the tracklisting and upcoming Wavves tour dates.

[Listen] Everyone - "No Time To Waste"

I always find it quite interesting to hear about collaborations and I always try to imagine how certain artists meet and how it leads from say a quick hello to being in a studio together making some sweet, sweet music. For Adam Bainbridge aka Kindness and Tiger Sushi label boss, Joakim. They met when Adam was recording his debut in Paris a few years back. Fast forward to the present and can enjoy a first listen to their project, Everyone. "No Time To Waste" is also the debut release for the label Crowdspacer, a vinyl-only label set up by Joakim. No doubt the coming months will be filled with some more goodness from these two, but for now how about giving the track a spin and letting us no what you think of the collab.

A 12" is out on February 11th, would be great to see what you think to the track.

[SKOA Presents] The 1975

I don't know if you've noticed, but it's 2013. Not only that but January is nearly over and time seems to be melting away unlike the bloody rubbish weather hitting the UK right now. I've celebrated my birthday, started the year in New York and now I'm sat at a desk in a very cold Manchester counting the days until the weekend. Normality has resumed and I am well and truly in need of things to look forward to. Step forward Manchester's The 1975. We've talked about the four-piece before with tracks such as "You" and "Sex", but  I think 2013 is the year we'll truly see them shine. Plus, it's always nice to have things to look forward to.

So what do we have to look forward to from The 1975 this year I hear you cry? Plenty. That's what. The band have just announced a new EP, following up last year's Sex, and they've set its release for March 4th via the ever trusty Dirty Hit. Music For Cars (yeah, how good of an EP title is that!?) is bound to be a riot. Lead track "Chocolate" can be heard below and it sure is a sweet treat. If you've seen these guys live no doubt you'll know it already. The band are also planning a full-length release later in the year and have been busy co-producing it with the award-winning Mike Crossey (Arctic Monkeys, Foals). That's just the start.

In March they'll make a trip to Austin, Texas to perform some shows at the magical music pilgrimage known as SXSW and prior to that they've penned in even more UK dates. Yes, more UK dates! I think they'll need a fair few Now That's What I Call Music compilation discs for the tour bus and not just Music For Cars! Check out the dates below and keep your eyes well and truly peeled for more from these guys. We'll be sure to keep you in the loop. We'll be catching up with the band soon for a chat about what more you can expect from them in 2013. They'll be everywhere by the end of the year, and we'll be right there with 'em.

[Watch] The Knife - "Full of Fire" (Official Video)

It all got a bit out of hand last week with regards to this track. First it appeared online, only to be promptly removed and then re-upped numerous times. We've all seen it happen a thousand plus times and I understand that artists want us to hear tracks in the quality they intended them to be heard. At the same time though, as fans, we always want everything right fucking now so we we can understand why we all get a little over zealous and rip radio premieres etc. So, what's the track in question? The Knife's "Full of Fire", our first taste of what's to come from their upcoming long-player, Shaking the Habitual. The track is a glitch filled 9 minute romp that's been paired up with a cinematic visual from Marit Østberg. Chances are you're still thawing out from the bitterly cold weekend so why not shake off the remaining frost, stop what you're currently doing, take ten minutes from your day and hit play above.

The new album from The Knife is set to hit shelves until the 8th of April 8th in the UK/Europe and the following day in North America via Brille/Mute Records.

[News] Vampire Weekend Complete LP 3, Set for Release in May

As many bands are doing nowadays, Vampire Weekend has given their website an overhaul, donning it with an image stating that their third album is now complete. The now finished LP will be released on May 6th, as the website shows, through XL Recordings. Frontman Ezra Koenig recently spoke with Q Magazine, saying that the new album "really does feel like the third chapter in a book", that it will be "darker" and more "organic". We've yet to hear any content from the forthcoming album, but here's hoping this darker, more organic direction serves the scholarly New York outfit well.
