[Listen] Stream Smith Westerns' New Single "Varsity"

Smith Westerns made plans back in November of 2011 to get working on a third album, the follow-up to 2011's excellent Dye It Blonde, and those plans are finally coming to fruition. The band has been hard at work in El Paso, Texas, teaming up with producer Chris Coady to record the LP. As Pitchfork reports, the finished effort is titled Soft Will and features 10 tracks, one of which you can hear today.
The song, titled "Varsity", is the closing track on the album, and sees the band embodying '60s pop sensibilities. Flourishing guitar riffs, soft ballads, and delicate synthesizers surround this lighthearted cut from start to finish. Stream it below.
Soft Will drops on June 11th via Mom+Pop.

03. Glossed

[Listen] Fossil Collective - "Under My Arrest"
I've talked about Fossil Collective a few times over the past year. Mostly for their beautiful music and stunning visual accompaniments which you can take a look at over here. Today though I come bearing even better news; They're set to release their debut album in just over a month on April the 8th and it's titled Tell Where I Lie. Along with that they've previewed a wonderful album cut titled "Under My Arrest". I am very much looking forward to wrapping my ears around a long player from these guys if this is what they're sounding like. Wonderful stuff.
Like what you hear too? Why not check the band on the road in the coming months. Dates for UK venues can be seen after the jump.

[Watch] Tribes - "How The Other Half Live" (Official Video)
We've mentioned that we're more that impressed with the fact Tribes are preparing to release a brand new album titled Wish To Scream on May 20th barely a year after their debut Baby impressed us. And today we get the video accompaniment for their recently previewed track, "How The Other Half Live". The band definitely seem to be progressing with their sound and it's bloody marvelous. I've seen these boys a few times live and I'd highly recommend you do the same. With them recently playing a couple of sold out London dates, they've added some more UK shows. Check them out after the jump.

[News] James Blake's New Album to Feature Brian Eno and RZA

James Blake got us excited enough for his sophomore album Overgrown when he dropped the lead single "Retrograde", but a press release issued today revealed some tantalizing possibilities. What was simply a tracklist and artwork (pictured above) reveal proved to be much more than that, given the tracklist has both Brian Eno and Wu-Tang Clan's RZA as featured guests.
Gahhh!!! I don't know what to expect from these collaborations, but I'm very excited to find out. It's also worth noting that Blake recently spent some time with Kanye West and Jay-Z. While he did indeed hit the studio with Ye and Hov, it's not clear whether the three managed to record something worhtwhile together.
Below, you can check out the tracklist for Overgrown, as well as the video for "Retrograde". Overgrown is out on April 8th.
Overgrown Tracklist:
01. Overgrown
02. I Am Sold
03. Life Around Here
04. Take A Fall For Me feat. RZA
05. Retrograde
06. DLM
07. Digital Lion feat. Brian Eno
08. Voyeur
09. To The last
10. Our Love Comes Back
[Album Stream] Youth Lagoon - 'Wondrous Bughouse'

Youth Lagoon's moody, cosmic soundscapes are at base level explorative, journeys into the mind that are as psychedelic and fascinating as the artwork pictured above. Wondrous Bughouse is Trevor Powers' sophomore album, another chance for him to uncover truths about himself and our world through musical expression. The LP is introspective, it asks questions that many of us have thought, on mortality, sprituality and the mind, but it does so in a wholly upbeat way. By weaving intricate layers of eccentric synthesizers and simple melodies, Powers offers an entrance into the mind, a beginning to a journey. Stream the album below and see what end it leads you to.
Wondrous Bughouse is out on March 5th through Fat Possum.

[News] Major Lazer Delays 'Free the Universe', Releases Mixtape in the Meantime

Bad news for Major Lazer fans, as Diplo has announced that Free the Universe has been delayed. The Diplo-led project was supposed to deliver their sophomore LP on February 26th—it was previously delayed till that date from November 6th—but now the album is without a firm release date. In a statement to fans, Diplo said:
We never want to disappoint our supporters but circumstances out of our control have made us unable to keep the intended date. For anyone disappointed, we are truly apologetic and we promise that this hiccup has only made what we have planned for the album stronger. We tried extremely hard to keep the date but it was ultimately decided that rushing the album would have been unfair to you and everyone who worked so hard on it."
In the meantime though, Diplo and co. will offer up three free mixtapes made up of unreleased and rare material. The first, Lazers Strike Back Vol 1., is available now, and you can grab it here. As well, the next single from Free the Universe, titled "Watch Out for This (Bumaye)", will be offered up for free to those who pre-order the album through iTunes. Pre-orders start on February 26th.
Major Lazer will be hitting the road soon, so make sure to check out their full tour docket here.

[Watch] Disclosure - "White Noise" Feat. AlunaGeorge (Official Video)
Disclosure's AlunaGeorge featuring track "White Noise" is an absolute banger that you cannot help but sing along to and have a little boogie to. It caused my Twitter feed to explode when it first dropped about a month ago. The single is set for release on March 24th via PMR Records and today they've let loose a video that's just as good as the track. It features a security guard going about his daily business whilst getting his rather impressive dance on in numerous locations. We've all no doubt been this guy at one point or another, we're alone, we're listening to a track that makes us lose ourselves a little bit in the music and then BAM, we're throwing shapes better than Mick Jagger left right and centre. Check it out at the top.
