[Album Stream] Chvrches - 'The Bones of What You Believe'

People have been getting very excited about the highly infectious tunes Glasgow band Chvrches have been throwing at us in recent months. "The Mother We Share" and "Gun" stand out as firm favourites for me. They're about to release The Bones of What You Believe on September 23rd which is sure to see them gain even more fans and maybe convert some people still not convinced by their dance worthy tunes. Ahead of the album release next week you can stream it in full courtesy of NPR over on their site. Lovely stuff. I know what I'll be listening to in the office today.

[Watch] Wavves debut GTA V featuring "Nine Is God" live on Conan

Tomorrow marks the day many of us will be "sick" and have to stay home from work. The world could go into melt down for all we know. Forget about the Y2K bug 'cause tomorrow is release day for GTA V, the most expensive game ever created. It actually cost more to make than most Hollywood Blockbusters, second only to Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End. There's some useless pub quiz knowledge for your Monday morning. As is the standard with Grand Theft Auto we can expect a vast array of entertaining radio stations and DJ's to keep us company as we roam the incredibly large map. One of said radio stations will be hosted by none other than Nathan Williams of Wavves and last week the band debuted a brand new track live on Conan that they've created especially for the game. Titled "Nine Is God" you can check out the performance above. Peep "Afraid of Heights" below too while you're at it. Notice Nathan's ltd ed "Los Santos" snapback.

Prepare your excuses for your boss tomorrow. Lucky for me I am the boss and I've already handed myself a doctor's note stating I will be out of action for the foreseeable future!

[Watch] Skream - "Rollercoaster" Feat. Sam Frank (Official Video)

Skream is a talented fellow that likes to mix things up a bit every now and again. He's offered us up a variety of tracks over the years. His latest is a disco-centric track, "Rollercoaster", is the perfect feel-good tune to lighten up the tension before you let your hair down this evening. It features some ear stroking vocals from Sam Frank and it's like sipping down a refreshing gin and tonic after a long hard day. The video is entertaining too, showing us the tale of a young gent frantically trying to plan a party as the world is set to be hit by a huge asteroid. You've seen the movies, unless they've got Bruce Willis on speed dial, earth is pretty much screwed. Make sure to stick around until the end for the disco-ball bonanza.

[Listen] These Monsters - "The Swamp" x "The Dogs"

We've not really mentioned These Monsters as much as we probably should have. They're a noisy bunch from Leeds offering up a riff heavy wave of music that you should familiarise yourselves with. The make the kind of music you'd have playing through your head while running away from a murderer wielding an axe or something similar. It gets the blood pumping. They've just announced a new, double A-side 7" single in the shape of "The Swamp" / "The Dogs" which will be released as part of September's Too Pure Singles Club. You can pick up the tracks from September 30th. Until then, stream it on repeat below and keep looking over your shoulders for murderers.

[Listen] of Montreal - "Belle Glade Missionaries"

How about some brand new of Montreal to start off your Friday in good spirits? The band are preparing to release lousy with sylvianbriar next month on October 8th. In preparation of the release they've let loose a tune call "Belle Glade Missionaries" which is a more than slightly sounding rock throwback that I can more than get down to. Retro is the future I'm telling you. Plus everything's already been done. Or so they say. Daft Punk know what I'm talking about. But in all seriousness, this song sounds pretty damn good and is worth a few minutes of your Friday. You're probably slacking anyway as it's Friday so treat yourself to something that's not a picture of a fluffy cat or something.

[Watch] Wet Nuns - "Hanging" (Official Video)

A few weeks ago I made the trip to the wonderful Beacons Festival and one of the highlights of the weekend for me were the death-blues pairing Wet Nuns who delivered a face melting set. Their new single "Hanging" has now been given the official video treatment and it features footage from that very set along with the duo smashing the crap out of their guitar and drums. Something I've always wanted to do in all honesty. The track is set to feature on their self-titled debut which is released on the 9th of October.

They'll head out on tour in October too so be sure to catch them live while you can. Not that they're going anywhere. Just, you know, 'cause they're playing soon.

[News] Arcade Fire's New Album 'Reflektor' Detailed, Listen to the Titular Single

9pm on September 9th. Today is the big day. Arcade Fire has hinted about and teased it for months now, and fans and bloggers alike have speculated, ruminated and hunted for details, but it's finally here. The band has officially unveiled their fourth album Reflektor.

For those living in countries with access to the 9pm availability of the album's titular single on iTunes (it's still only 12 noon where I currently am), some tantalizing details were provided. First, Reflektor will be released on October 29th, as we already knew. Second, that's the artwork posted above—it is inspired by the Greek legend of Orpheus and Eurydice. Third, it will feature thirteen songs, one of which is "Reflektor." The running times and titles of the other twelve have yet to be revealed.

Now, on to the most exciting part! While you may not yet be able to purchase "Reflektor" on iTunes, Arcade Fire have shared an interactive video featuring the song. Teaming up with Google Chrome and frequent collaborator Vincent Morisset, the video "follows a young woman who travels between her world and our own." You can view the interactive piece, filmed in Jacmel, Haiti, here, and below you can watch a behind the scenes look at the making of the video.

"Reflektor" was produced by LCD Soundsystem's James Murphy and features vocals from David Bowie. It is available to buy digitally today at 9pm—yes, it is time zone specific—and will also come as a 12" vinyl at select record stores. Arcade Fire will also be performing on the season premiere of Saturday Night Live on September 28th.

UPDATE: Arcade Fire have released an official video for "Reflektor," this time featuring the band members themselves. Directed by Anton Corbijn, it's simply fantastic from start to finish, full of dark touches and charming oddities. Arcade Fire are owning this day. Replay the video below.
