[Listen] Blackbird Blackbird - "Happy With You"

Not sure how I fell off the Blackbird Blackbird bandwagon for awhile but with this new song I am totally back in the game. From his upcoming Boracay Planet EP we have "Happy With You", which sounds like something that belongs on an indie movie soundtrack of some sort. The whirring strings and the gentle plucking of the acoustic guitar adds a certain warmth and inner glow to the song that I had yet to experience from a BB track, so props for including those layers.

Boracay Planet is due for a physical release on CD and vinyl sometime this year. You can expect to be receiving updates from us when a release date is confirmed.

[Watch] Two Inch Punch - "Moonstruck" (Video)

When I first moved to NYC a friend of mine took me to Korova Milk Bar back when it was over on Avenue A just before it closed. One of my first memories of the place was watching Barbarella on one of the TVs behind the bar and being so confused because I had never heard of the movie in my life. Thanks to Two Inch Punch's latest video for his track, "Moonstruck" from his upcoming EP I had the chance to take a stroll down memory lane from his use of cropped up clips from the movie. Just like with "Paint It Red", this new track is a more than appropriate soundtrack for floating in space. If you've been into these songs make sure you pick up his upcoming EP Saturn: The Slow Jams on June 25th via PMR Records. If you're in the London area you can catch him at Notting Hill Arts Club on June 22nd for his EP Launch party where you can catch sets from Velour and Brey in addition to a set from Two Inch Punch himself.

[News] Deltron 3030's New Album Coming In September

The project of Dan The Automator, Kid Koala and Del The Funky Homosapien better known as Deltron 3030 have been readying the release of a sophomore album since 2006. Their only release to date was back in the millennium some 12 years ago. Yesterday some news from the camp hit the net though via CBC Music Dan the Automator let loose the news the album is finished and will mostly likely be released in September: "The record’s done with one or two maybe small touch ups…What I’m about [is] not changing any songs more like little, in between segue things." So prepare for some new material that could melt our minds. CoS also points towards a video of some material they debuted in Toronto over the past weekend tentatively titled "I Have Seen".

[Watch] Doomtree - "Beacon"

Team The Best Team aka Wings and Teeth aka Minneapolis hip hop collective Doomtree return with a brand new video off one of my favorite albums of 2011 No Kings. Although the album dropped back in November, the Doom Crew have been busy touring in support of their latest record and if you heard it in all its epicness you would understand why. But even with their crazy schedule the crew still finds time to put out some awesome videos like their latest steampunk themed visual for the No Kings' cut "Beacon" directed by Bo Hakala.

This dark and gritty video is one of my favorite videos that the collective have put out to date. Although it isn't Har Mar Superstar getting down(to his bare ass, literally) to some "Bangarang" karaoke, this video speaks for itself on how creative these group of artist are and also showcases the always beautiful Dessa, Sims looking like a crazed maniac while Mike Mictlan creeping around in the shadows which I call an all around win. But anyways, enough talk check the video out above and if you haven't already picked up No Kings (FOR SHAME) do so here.

If you still haven't caught the group on tour like myself (I know sad, right?) you still have a chance to catch them at the following events:

Doomtree Upcoming Tour Dates

6/16 – Minneapolis, MN – Rock The Garden

7/13 – Dour, Belgium - Dour Festival

7/20 – 7/22 - Seattle, WA - Capitol Hill Block Party

7/27 - Somerset, WI - Sound Town Music & Camping Festival at Somerset Amphitheater

8/4 – Chicago, IL – Lollapalooza

[Watch] Nardwuar vs. M83

When M83 visited Vancouver back in April, the city's resident weirdo and interview aficionado Nardwuar the Human Serviette made sure to stop by to ask Anthony Gonzalez as many pressing questions as possible. The result? Gonzalez was, like many of Nardwuar's interviewees, stunned by his impressive knowledge and research, and reacted only with confusion to Nardwuar's signature sign-off. If you're a fan of M83, the interview is definitely worth the watch.

[Listen] Baroness - "March to the Sea" x "Take My Bones"

Occasionally you stumble cross an album by mistake, a track here and there is also quite common. With Baroness I was sat late at night on my phone in a darkened room when Daniel P Carter of the Radio One Rock show tweeted a pic of an album cover he thought was the best he'd heard in ages. He'd previously turned me onto the likes of Hawk Eyes who are now one of my favourite bands. That album he'd mentioned this time was Yellow & Green, the new release from the Georgia band Baroness which is set to drop on July 17th via Reprise Records. After searching out for some tracks I came across "Take My Bones" which is a well rounded sludge wall of noise and then last night another new track titled "March to the Sea" appeared online via Pitchfork. Check out the latter on P4K and "Take My Bones" below.
