[Listen] Muse - "Survival"
As announced earlier, Muse have just premiered the first single from their forthcoming album The 2nd Law. It's titled "Survival" and is out now, it's also been named as the official song of the London 2012 Olympics. Zane Lowe premiered the track on Radio One along with a pre-lude. Following the album tease which featured a bit of dubstep "Survival" delivers an interesting big sounding piano intro before the finger clicks and high pitched vocal beat kicks in. Layers of vocals build up on top of Matt's voice and then the guitar riff drops. A mid song solo pairs up with Chris' bass line nicely and the drums are pretty damn big. Enough chat. Hit play below to hear a the Devon trio's first track in a while. It's nice to have them back and hey, no dubstep! Jump over to 107.7 The End for the stream.
The 2nd Law is released on September the 17th.
UPDATE: We've just got the official stream via Warner. Check it out right here on SKoA below.

[News] Muse's New Single "Survival" to be London 2012 Olympics Official Song
My twitter feed practically blew up last night as news broke of a new Muse track being premiered today (Jun. 27th) on Zane Lowe's Radio One show. Every one was a little suspect though as there was no official word from the band regarding it. Today the news has been made official and contrary to reports that "Unsustainable" was said track it is in fact "Survival". Writing on the official Muse.mu site the bad said:
We are very excited to announce that a Muse song, Survival, has been selected by the London Olympic committee to be the main official song for the London 2012 Olympic Games. Matt wrote the song with the Olympics in mind. It's about total conviction and pure determination to win.
The song will be played throughout the Games including when athletes enter the stadium, in the lead up to the medal ceremony and also as the theme for all international TV coverage. The worldwide radio exclusive will be tonight on BBC Radio 1 during Zane Lowe's show around 19:30 and will be available to buy on iTunes and in the muse.mu store immediately afterwards.
We are honoured that the Olympics have chosen our song to officially represent the London 2012 Olympic Games across the globe.
After the track is played at 7:30pm (2:30 pm EST) this evening it'll be instantly available for download here. It's to be the first single from the band's newly announced 6th album The 2nd Law set for release on September 17th.
[Watch] The 1975 - "Facedown"
Manchester band The 1975 are gearing up for success. They've been getting some attention for their track "The City" which you can enjoy below, but they've also teased with a more sombre number titled "Facedown" which is taken from their forthcoming EP. That EP goes by the same name and is set for release on the 6th of August via Dirty Hit. Being a Manchester band it's nice to see them getting more attention and I'm pretty sure that following the EP 2012 will lead to bigger things for these guys. Enjoy the tracks and watch this space.
[Download] D-WHY - "Crave You" (D-WHY x Flight Facilities x Aeroplane vs. Friendly Fires)
We've had a few little summer jams from D-WHY over the past few months, we had the highly infectious "We Don't Know" and a cross over with Grimes in "Young Mariah". Today we get another new cut from him in the shape of him jumping on top of the pretty nice remix of Flight Facilities‘ "Crave You" by Aeroplane vs. Friendly Fires.
As we've mentioned before, D is preparing a new mixtape called, Don’t Flatter Yourself, this however won't feature so get your fill in prep for the tape drops.
