[Watch] Twin Shadow - "Patient" (Official Video)
The journey of George Lewis Jr. continues in the new video for Twin Shadow's "Patient." Continuing from the events of the video for "Five Seconds," this one sees our hero in a scummy bar succumbing to the plights of jealousy. Keith Musil once again directs. Watch it above.
Twin Shadow's sophomore LP Confess is out now via 4AD.
[Listen] M.I.A. - "Baby"
A previously unheard M.I.A. track has hit the web and it's a bass throbbing simple number. It's titled "Baby" and features some funky guitar lines along with thrusts of bass paired up with M.I.A. laying down her vocals in a staccato fashion. It goes a little awol towards the last quarter of the track with the guitar sounding like a phone dialing a number. The track was apparently written for Madonna and Maya took to twitter stating:
"who ever LEAKED THAT BABY song should know that ive never heard this version B4 it sounds crazy different 2 wht i [wrote] for madonna...im not mad about it but this just make me want to upload my version of it...this song wasnt recorded for my LP> so its not complete > besides i now have way more to say to my man."
[News] Grizzly Bear Announce Title of New Album, Unveil Artwork
Grizzly Bear recently announced that their long awaited fourth LP will arrive on September 18th, and now the Brooklyn outfit have unveiled more details regarding the forthcoming release. The album is officially titled Shields, and its artwork is pictured above. Expect more from Grizzly Bear over the coming months, and in the meantime you can listen to "Sleeping Ute," the first single from the album, below.
[Listen] Ellie Goulding - "Hanging On" Feat. Tinie Tempah (Active Child Cover)
We've not had any new material from Ellie Goulding for quite some time. Her debut LP, Lights, was a huge success in the UK and she went on to release it Stateside under a new name of, Bright Lights, which came with an added few tracks. Heck, she even played the Royal Wedding last year in the UK. She must be doing something right! Today we get some new sounds from her, she's taken on "Hanging On" from Active Child and posted on her Twitter account: "Here's the beginning of my new journey. Enjoy and share responsibly." The track features another UK chart topper, Tinie Tempah. Check it out below. I have a feeling we're going to be getting a lot of new material from young Ellie in the coming 12 months.
[Watch] Bloc Party - "Octopus"
At a recent show in Manchester, UK indie outfit Bloc Party performed the song "Octopus," along with six others, off of their new studio album Four. The album is the band's first in four years, and now, courtesy of Amazon and Spotify, you can hear the album quality version of the single "Octopus." Stream it below (via Listen Before You Buy).
Four is out on August 21st via Frenchkiss Records.
UPDATE: At the request of the band and label we have now removed the stream, however we're assured that there will be an official one later next week. Watch this space.
UPDATE 2: Check out the official stream and a video accompaniment below. It's nice to have these guys back! August can't come soon enough.
[Watch] Tom Waits - "Chicago" Live on Letterman
In the madness that was late night TV in the US last night you might of missed Tom Waits performing on the Late Show with David Letterman. He performed his track "Chicago" which features on his Bad as Me release at the back end of last year. Check out the performance including a full backing band at the top of the page.
