[Watch] Passion Pit - "Constant Conversations" (Official Video)
There is a lot to take in from Passion Pit's new visuals for their slow-moving cut "Constant Conversations". At a high-society shindig, Michael Angelakos observes the various heirarchies, secrets, conversations, and interactions. Secret hook ups, lying, and spying are what you'll find at this upper class summer party, along with a snake in a bathtub and a cameo from Peter Bogdanovich. Watch it above.
Passion Pit's sophomore LP Gossamer is out now via Columbia Records.
[Listen] Yeasayer - 'Fragrant World' (Full Album Stream)
Yeasayer are offering up a full stream of their third LP Fragrant World, which is set for release on August 21st via Secretly Canadian. But, here's the catch, you'll have to find all 11 tracks yourself. One more thing, they're scattered all across the Internet. Here is the band's explanation, taken from a fan newsletter:
We have received a message that we are on the verge of embargoed information being leaked through the cracks of the digital universe. Once again an attempt to tell the story before our mouths can spit. In order to have the edge we have created PSCYVOTV standing for PREEMPTIVE SELF-COMMISSIONEDYEASAYER VORSTELLUNG or TRACK VISUALIZER.
Using the talents of Yoshi Sodeoka we have created a moving visual for every song on our new album FRAGRANT WORLD and have hidden them all over the internet. The visuals will live on the web until Friday Aug. 3, at 8pm EST. You’ll have a few days to find, listen, and most importantly, hear the album from our hands first. At 8pm sharp PSCYVOTV will be removed.
*Warning: PSCYVOTV may cure depression or boredom.
If you find all the visuals remember the track listing:
1. Fingers Never Bleed
2. Longevity
3. Blue Paper
4. Henrietta
5. Devil and the Deed
6. No Bones
7. Reagan’s Skeleton
8. Demon Road
9. Damaged Goods
10. Folk Hero Schtick
11. Glass of the MicroscopePlease remember, it’s fun to share, but more important to support."
NOTE: We will provide links to the songs as they are discovered.

[News] Snoop Dogg No Longer, Snoop Lion Reincarnated
Snoop Dogg recently announced that he was making a full-length reggae with the help of Diplo, and even went on a trip to Jamaica to embrace the reggae lifestyle. The result was Snoop Dogg changing his name to Snoop Lion, embracing the title given to him by the rastafari. Now, the rap legend will release Reincarnated later this year via Vice Records, and has no plan on returning to the rap game. As FACT reports:
Speaking to press in New York this week, Snoop claimed that he hadn’t planned to go to Jamaica to make a reggae record, but “the spirit called me … And, you know, anytime the spirit calls you, you gotta know that its serious.”
Indeed. Continuing, Snoop explained that he doesn’t want Reincarnated to portray “Snoop Dogg in a reggae track”, instead, claiming that he “want[s] to bury Snoop Dogg and become Snoop Lion”, after a spiritual meeting with a high priest in Jamaica. “Rap is not a challenge to me. I had enough of that. It’s not appealing to me no more. I don’t have no challenges … I’m ‘Uncle Snoop’ in rap. When you get to be an uncle, you need to find a new profession so you can start over and be fresh again.”
Well, there you have it, Snoop Dogg is no more. In the meantime, you can stream the lead single from Reincarnation, the Diplo-produced cut "La La La", as well as the trailer for the Reincarnation documentary, which will premiere at Toronto Film Festival later this year.
[Watch] Mount Eerie - "The Place Lives" (Official Video)
Phil Elverum , aka Mount Eerie, has given us the music video for "The Place Lives", the first visuals from his latest LP Clear Moon. Being a native of the Pacific Northwest, Elverum's visual accompaniment sees him journeying through the dense, emerald forests that the region is known for. Being a native of the Pacific Northwest as well, the natural beauty Elverum indulges in is very familiar to me. Although, for those who've yet to experience these lush evergreen forests in person, this video is a perfect example of this majestic environment. Watch the replay above.
Mount Eerie's latest LP Clear Moon is out now via Elverum's own P.W. Elverum and Sun imprint, and his second album of the year, Ocean Roar, is set to drop on September 4th. To support both of his 2012 releases, Mount Eerie will be touring throughout September and October. Check out his full tour itinerary after the jump.

[Album Review] Dark Time Sunshine - 'ANX'
It's been awhile since we've had an album review on SKoA. Looks like we'll have to change that and get back to business. Especially with all the great releases that we've seen this year and the many more on the way it's only right that we let you know whats on our mind and in our tape deck...excuse me MP3 players, spotify playlists, etc. you get the picture. So lets get right into it, shall we?
It's been a great year for independent hip hop with the release new albums by some of the genre's greatest artists such as El-P, Doomtree, Aesop Rock, Killer Mike, I Self Devine and upcoming albums from P.O.S. and Brother Ali. Enter Dark Time Sunshine to release their latest and dare I say greatest album to date, ANX. With their new LP, Grayskul wordsmith Onry Ozzborn and beatmaker extraordinaire Zavala return with an evolved, more polished version of their previous LP, Vessel which continues to progress the DTS sound above and beyond the standard. I've been a fan of Onry's work since the release of Grayskul's Rhymesayers debut LP Deadlivers and got my first taste of DTS' work when the track "Primor" from their debut LP Vessel made it's way around the blogosphere. With that album was my first introduction to producer Zavala's bigger than just hip hop beats and DTS' unique mixture of rhymes, melody and amazing musical landscapes which showcased that duo are more than just another hip hop duo.

With that album was my first introduction to producer Zavala's bigger than just hip hop beats and DTS' unique mixture of rhymes, melody and amazing musical landscapes which showcased that duo are more than just another hip hop duo.
The album's production provided by Zavala is a wonderful mix of dark but upbeat hip-hop, jazz and electro which mesh perfectly with Onry's signature style of and lyrics as well as the inclusion of indie pop vocals from guest artists such as Reva Devito, Mendee of Free Moral Agents and Child Actor. Although a majority of the album is filled with guest features, this takes nothing away from what DTS bring as a whole. In fact, I believe it helps to enhance the experience as showcased on stand out tracks like "Valiant" featuring Child Actor, my personal favorite "Overlordian" featuring Doomtree's very own P.O.S., the album's single "Take My Hand" featuring Swamburger of Solillaquists of Sound and their current touring buddy Aesop Rock and the track which brought me back into the world of Dark Time Sunshine "Look At What The Cat Did" featuring a non abstract verse from Busdriver.
Aside from it's slow upstart, ANX holds its own to the albums released this year by it's peers and surpasses DTS previous effort by a large margin. Even if most indie hip hop isn't up your alley, it's definitely a worthwhile listen for all that it brings to the table. But if you are a hip hop fan and you haven't picked up this release, I ask you this, "What the fuck are you waiting for!?" ANX is now available via Fake Four, Inc. and we highly suggest you grab yourself a copy and catch these guys on tour as well. Still not convinced by all this text? Then do what I do, take a listen to the album stream below and if it tickles your music bunghole pick up the LP here. While you are there, I also suggest you check out the duo's previous effort Vessel as well. That shit bangs.
Score: 3.5
[Watch] TNGHT - "Bugg'n" (Official Video)
Hudson Mohawke and Lunice's joint venture TNGHT have offered up a video to accompany the track "Bugg'n" which featured on the recently released self-titled project. The video is a pretty simple affair with everyday happenings being features with it all culminating in a club scene at the end. Party on.
If you haven't given the project much of a look or any listens at all I'd recommend it. You can pick up a copy of the TNGHT EP here.
[Listen] Hot Chip - "Look At Where We Are" (Four Tet Remix)
Following up the Major Lazer remix we heard last month, Hot Chip's track "Look At Where We Are" has been given the remix treatment again, this time by none other than Four Tet. The remix can be heard below and it's a pretty chilled out mix that's perfect for a mid-morning mid-week listen.
If you missed it last week go check out their retro looking green screen video for "How Do You Do" over here.
Hot Chip's new album, In Our Heads, is out now.
