[Album Stream] Youth Lagoon - 'Wondrous Bughouse'

Youth Lagoon's moody, cosmic soundscapes are at base level explorative, journeys into the mind that are as psychedelic and fascinating as the artwork pictured above. Wondrous Bughouse is Trevor Powers' sophomore album, another chance for him to uncover truths about himself and our world through musical expression. The LP is introspective, it asks questions that many of us have thought, on mortality, sprituality and the mind, but it does so in a wholly upbeat way. By weaving intricate layers of eccentric synthesizers and simple melodies, Powers offers an entrance into the mind, a beginning to a journey. Stream the album below and see what end it leads you to.

Wondrous Bughouse is out on March 5th through Fat Possum.

Kanye West took to the stage in London Saturday night, and what better way to excite the crowd than a good old fashioned rant? While performing "Clique", Ye bluntly voiced his annoyances to the audience, and his first target was "Suit & Tie", Justin Timberlake and Jay-Z's hot new single. He told the crowd, "I got love for Hov, but I ain’t fucking with that 'Suit & Tie'."

The 11-minute tirade saw Kanye complaining about everything from the value of art, his grudge against business people and corporations, why the Grammys suck, and more. Check out video footage of the rant below or read the full transcript of Ye's delightful opinions after the jump.

Creativity fuels everything. I hate business people. People get at me and say, ‘What kind of business can it do? What type of business are you doing? What’s the numbers? How much did you sell? What’s the radio spins? How much shampoo can you sell with yo face on it and shit?’ (Sings) Remind me again why we in this shit? Remind me again why we in this shit? It’s gotta be more than just to get rich. Since when was making music about getting rich? Since when was making art about getting rich? And I know it’s easy for me to say this. And having money’s not everything. And having it is. Remind me again why we in this shit? Remind me again why the Grammys can suck my dick? Remind me again who’s the original Superfly? I got love for Hov, but I aint fucking with that Suit & Tie. Remind me again why we in this shit? Remind me again why we in this shit? Every n***er trying to get rich. And every rapper always rapping about fucking someone else. Bitch. Remind me why we in this shit? Remind me why we in this shit? Why the Grammys can suck my dick? Suck my dick. Bitch. And every motherfucking sponsorship. They trying to put their logos on every concert and shit. For the meet and greet, you gotta meet the execs and their daughters. And they’ll show you what they just bought her. Remind me why we in this shit? Real n***as don’t live too long in this shit! Real n***as don’t live too long in this shit! Real n***as don’t live too long in this shit! Real n***as don’t live too long in this shit! Real n***as don’t live too long in this shit! Real n***as don’t live too long in this shit! They saying you coming off too strong in this shit. They always sayin’ what I’m doing wrong in this shit! Well, I don’t give a fuck about anything! Well, I don’t give a fuck about anything! Remind me why we in this shit? I lost my motherfucking mom! Talking bout your comments, I could give a fuck about your comments. Cause we all gonna day some day, and I’m live my life my way! So, you gonna help me put on a better show, corporations? Can you please support me? Please? Me, Kanye West. I swear I’m a nice leader now. I swear I’ll put the pink polo back on. I swear to you. Please. Just for three million dollars. I need it so bad. I need a pool in my backyard! So I’ll tell all my fans your shit is cool. And if they believe in me, then they’ll also believe in you. ‘Did we get the check yet? I gotta call the business manager. Did the corporations send the check? What is my public rating? Are people liking me again? Enough to get some money from the corporations? They forgot about the whole Beyonce thing, right? Cool. Is it OK now? Remind me why we in this shit? Remind me why we in this shit."

[News] Major Lazer Delays 'Free the Universe', Releases Mixtape in the Meantime

Bad news for Major Lazer fans, as Diplo has announced that Free the Universe has been delayed. The Diplo-led project was supposed to deliver their sophomore LP on February 26th—it was previously delayed till that date from November 6th—but now the album is without a firm release date. In a statement to fans, Diplo said:

We never want to disappoint our supporters but circumstances out of our control have made us unable to keep the intended date. For anyone disappointedwe are truly apologetic and we promise that this hiccup has only made what we have planned for the album stronger. We tried extremely hard to keep the date but it was ultimately decided that rushing the album would have been unfair to you and everyone who worked so hard on it."

In the meantime though, Diplo and co. will offer up three free mixtapes made up of unreleased and rare material. The first, Lazers Strike Back Vol 1., is available now, and you can grab it here. As well, the next single from Free the Universe, titled "Watch Out for This (Bumaye)", will be offered up for free to those who pre-order the album through iTunes. Pre-orders start on February 26th.

Major Lazer will be hitting the road soon, so make sure to check out their full tour docket here.
