[Watch] Beach House - "Wishes" (Official Video)
Beach House have gone quite far outside the box with their video for "Wishes", employing Ray Wise of Twin Peaks fame as the star and Eric Wareheim of Tim and Eric as the director. Wise provides the soundtrack to a sporting event that cannot be described without words like "ridiculous" and "baffling", but needless to say it culminates in him riding a white stallion. It's confusing as hell, yet absolutely amazing. Pressing play is all that needs to be done.
[Watch] Phoenix - "Entertainment" (Offficial Video)
Phoenix return after several weeks with a new video for their Bankrupt! single "Entertainment", matching the anthemic cut with some fairly random visuals. Pushing its focus towards Korean culture, the video includes an effeminite K-pop singer, an ancient warrior with bow skills, fireworks, an awesome street fight, and much more. It's random, but it's enjoyable. Check out the Patrick Daughters-directed clip above.
[Listen] Stream Baths' New Single "Miasma Sky"

Baths, the moniker of Los Angeles beatmaker Will Wiesenfeld, returns after three years with a new album and a somber single in tow. His sophomore effort, titled Obsidian, differs greatly from his 2010 debut Cerulean, with the new work reaching into somber, brooding corners as opposed to the bright sounds found on his first album. Wiesenfeld describes the album as "a hard, dark, glasslike volcanic rock formed by the rapid solidification of lava", continuing by saying:
Anything I found that felt like a unique vision of darker emotions or atmospheres, I tried to absorb. Being a positive and outgoing guy made it that much more difficult getting into that mindset. It was a matter of tapping into that and returning with songs that felt genuine and somehow from my own personal experience."
Our first taste of the new LP is the lead single "Miasma Sky", an introspective, cloudy cut that perfectly exemplifies Baths' darker direction. Stream it below.
Obsidian is out on May 28th via Anticon.
[Watch] FIDLAR - "Max Can't Surf II: The Zuk Trip" (Video)
What year was it again that Marty McFly has a hiverboard? Pretty sure it wasn't 2013?! Still, that's not stopped Brandon Schwartzel and Max Kuehn of FIDLAR ripping through, well, the entire world on their acid-trip induced hoverboards. They finally then end up in space firing lasers from their hands, obviously. So, it's Friday unless you've forgotten! No doubt you're ready to cut loose and enjoy the weekend with some beers and what no so why not start it a little early, I'm sure your boss won't mind. Maybe don't drop the tab of acid though. Happy Friday folks!
FIDLAR's self-titled debut is out now on Mom & Pop.
[Watch] Lulu James - "Closer" (Official Video)
Every now and then I let a track slip through the cracks. This was one of those songs. I luckily was introduced to it a few weeks ago via Radio One and since then, it's been getting played a damn lot in the evenings at my apartment. It's perfect for getting a little groove on after a busy day. Coming from Lulu James, who we introduced you to late last year, she blends a variety of genres into one smooth sounding mix that you'll want to play over and over again. Go on, give "Closer" a whirl, what have you got to lose? The video accompaniment is a stylish black and white affair, not detracting too much from the music but it works oh so well.
The single is set to be released on April 7th via RCA.
[Watch] Willy Moon - "My Girl" (Official Video)
Next month Willy Moon will unleash his highly infectious debut album, Here's Willy Moon, into the world and I have no doubt that it'll send people into a frenzy. It's on of those records that you just cant help but dance to. I can see why Mr. Moon has got such fancy dance moves now after listening to it all week. Ahead of the full release, his new single "My Girl" has been given the official video treatment, cutting together shots of the impeccably dressed man himself along side a pretty girl in the sunshine. As well as that it splices together clean cut filming with retro looking fuzz. It works pretty well with Willy's aesthetic. See for yourselves up above.
Here's Willy Moon is released on April 8th via Island Records.
[Watch] Biffy Clyro - "Biblical" (Official Video)
Since I got a hold of the new album, Opposites, from Biffy Clyro, I've honestly been blasting it almost daily. Heck, if you've been reading SKoA for a few years you'll of known I was hyped for this album back in the summer of 2011! And for a double LP, well, it's pretty damn killer. Today the band have released the video (via Stereogum) to their new single "Biblical", a track which took the lead in my favourites from the release from day one. Soaring choruses and downbeat verses. It was sure to be a single and now it is. The video shows Simon staying n a motel and getting the crap beaten out of him by some gang twice. However, both times this happens, Simon's attitude and story leading up to the point at which he gets knocked the eff out is rather different. Watch it for yourselves up at the top.
Yesterday, RollingStone premiered their album in full for US peeps who may not yet have heard it. Go listen to it if it's the only thing you do today. If you like what you hear, Opposites is out on the 12th of March via Warner.
[Listen] The Field Remixes Tame Impala's "Mind Mischief"

Tame Impala's psychedelic rock stylings get remixed by Swedish producer The Field. The latest single to come from Lonerism, "Mind Mischief" gets extended from four-and-a-half minutes to nearly eleven, with every high and low met with cosmic synthesizers and warped production. Press play and let the mesmerizing psychedelic sounds envelop, and, for comparison, check out the original song and its accompanying video below.
