[Watch] Kanye West Performs A Cappella Version of "New Slaves"

Yesterday night Kanye West held a listening party in the Swiss town of Basel. While showing off his soon-to-be-released album Yeezus he pressed pause and performed an a cappella version of "New Slaves." He also gave a shout out to Daft Punk, saying they collaborated with him on the song "On Sight." Check out the live performance below.

Kanye also did a rare interview with Jon Caramanica of The New York Times, his first in years. The interview, which took place last month at Shangri-la Studio in Malibu, was published this week. In it, Kanye spoke honestly about his whole career, from The College Dropout to Yeezus.  He gave his thoughts on how he fits into the music industry, as well as pop culture. He openly discusses the incident with Taylor Swift and the one during Hurricane Katrina. It's a fantastic interview, one worth reading simply because Kanye is so fascinating. Check it out here.

Yeezus is out on June 18th.

[Sasquatch! Interview] P.O.S Talks Minneapolis Music, His Various Projects, Future Touring and More

Sasquatch! 2013 was a crazy experience. There were so many amazing performances, stunning vistas to bask in and tons of cool people to meet. One of those people was Minneapolis rapper P.O.S, a founding member of the hip-hop collective Doomtree.

After releasing his fourth album We Don't Even Live Here last October, P.O.S (real name Stefon Alexander) was unable to tour due to kidney complications. Now, he's slowly reentering the touring scene. If his performance at Sasquatch! was any indication, he seems ready to get back into it full swing. Before he hit the Honda Bigfoot stage on the final day of the festival, my friend Jon Riggs of MVRemix and I had the chance to sit down and chat with Stefon about a slew of topics. During the 12-minute interview, we discussed the Minneapolis music scene and Doomtree's place within it, the importance of embracing different genres and music styles, as well as P.O.S' numerous side projects and future touring plans. Stream the full interview below.

[Watch] Edward Sharpe and The Magnetic Zeros Get Nostalgic in Their Video for "Better Days"

Edward Sharpe and The Magnetic Zeros' latest single "Better Days" yearns for the good old days, the better times that shouldn't be forgotten. It's perfectly fitting that the new clip for the song is a well-crafted collage of clips from 1980's films. Included are scenes from Breakin 2 Electric Boogaloo, Paris is Burning, The Boyfriend, Rappin' and Beat Street, compiled together to celebrate the good times that community, friendship, music and dancing can create. Watch it below.

On July 23rd, Edward Sharpe and The Magnetic Zeros' self-titled third studio album will be released. "Better Days" is the lead single.

[Listen] Check Out Flume's Bass-Heavy Remix of Disclosure's "You & Me"

Disclosure's Eliza Doolittle-featuring single "You & Me" is an incredible track on its own, a perfect reflection of Guy and Lawrence Howard's formula. Flume decided to take their combination of dancefloor-ready beats and Doolittle's yearning vocals and completely change the formula. The result is a near-five minute remix of bombastic bass and echoing, glitchy vocal samples. Just wait for the one-minute mark, it is purely awesome. Stream the remix alongside the original below.

[Watch] Jimmy Eat World - "I Will Steal You Back" Live on Kimmel

We've not really mentioned Jimmy Eat World too much here on SKOA in recent months (years). We posted up their RSD release back in April, but yesterday they released their seventh studio record, Damage, which was produced by the extremely talented Alain Johannes. So to help promote that they paid a visit to Jimmy Kimmel Live to perform the track "I Will Steal You Back" which I've heard quite a bit in the UK in recent months via numerous Radio Stations. Check them out after the jump via The Audio Perv.

Damage is out now.

[Watch] Poliça - "Tiff" Feat. Justin Vernon (Official Video)

I absolutely loved Poliça's debut album, Give You the Ghost, and was very happy to hear they're planning a follow up later this year. A taste of what to come from that arrived earlier in the year in the shape of the Justin Vernon featuring "Tiff. The video sees Channy Leaneagh torturing herself in a basement somewhere. Yeah, you read that correctly. She beats the crap out of herself. It is pretty graphic and features some breaking bones, water boarding and all out brutal treatment. It's the kind of beatings that make my toes curl. Watch it above, but you have been warned.

Their sophomore album Shulamith is due out this Autumn via Mom + Pop

[Album Stream] Sigur Rós - 'Kveikur'

After offering up several cuts from their new album, Kveikur, which follows up their 2012 release, ValtariSigur Rós now preview the new album in full one week before its official release date. As mentioned previously, they've said this album is to be "more aggressive" and after a few listens I'd have to agree. See if you do too over on Amazon.
