[Watch] The Weeknd Unveils NSFW Video for "Kiss Land"
The Weeknd's new single "Kiss Land" gets visualized, elaborating on the fuzzy Japanese iconography of its artwork. The four-minute clip sees Tesfaye paired with a chaotic arrangement of animated characters and images, as well as some NSFW pornagraphic footage. So yes, despite its fuzzed out CCTV-esque style, it's probably best not to watch this one at work. Catch the replay below.
"Kiss Land" is the titular track from The Weeknd's new album, set to release sometime later this year.
[News] Bloc Party to Release 'The Nextwave Sessions' EP in August, Watch the Clip for New Song "Ratchet"

Written and recorded during their Four tour, the EP consists of five tracks—check out the full tracklist below. 02. Obsence
03. French Exit
04. Montreal

[News] Delorean Announce New Album, Share the Lead Single "Spirit"
Spanish dance pop outfit Delorean have been a favorite of mine for a long time. Hell, three years later, their third album Subiza still shines bright. That's why my heart skipped a beat when I heard they had announced a follow-up to their fantastic 2010 LP. Titled Apar, the album is out on September 10th in North America and September 9th in Europe. Consider me very freakin' excited.
For an initial taste of what Apar has in store, give the lead single "Spirit" a bite. Frontman Ekhi Lopetegi describes it as their "big production album." After listening to "Spirit," what do you think? I guess we'll find out for sure when September 9th/10th rolls around.
[Listen] The Vaccines Offer Up Laid-Back Summer Single "Melody Calling"
The Vaccines' sophomore album Come of Age was really that; the 2012 LP really showcased the maturing sound of the British rockers, them coming of age. Moving away from the youthful naivety of their debut album What Did You Expect from The Vaccines?, their second outing was grittier and generally louder. That's why this new track draws some curious looks. Not bad looks, mind you, just curious ones. Premiering on Zane Lowe's BBC Radio 1 show, "Melody Calling" is less grimy and brash than anything we've heard from the band before. Recorded in Los Angeles, it's a carefree, summery jam, more emblematic of a day of surfing and smoking weed than rowdy mosh pits at a festival. Nonetheless, it's pretty good. Check it out below and let us know what you think of The Vaccines' new direction.
[News] MGMT Announce New Self-Titled Album
MGMT teased earlier this year that their third album would be out by June, but as the month comes to a close the anxiety soaked in. Fret not, though! The duo have announced the follow-up to 2010's Congratulations. A self-titled effort, the record will be out on September 17th.
Spanning ten tracks, the album begins with "Alien Days"—for those who remember, the song was originally released as a Record Store Day 2013 exclusive—and continues with awesome titles like "Astro-Mancy" and "Cool Song No 2." The album also includes two songs that the band has performed live, "Mystery Disease" and "Your Life Is a Lie."
MGMT fans, go ahead and mark September 17th on your calendars. If it helps to pass the time, you can stream their single "Alien Days" over and over again.
MGMT Tracklist:
01. Alien Days
02. Cool Song No 2
03. Mystery Disease
04. Introspection
05. Your Life Is a Lie
06. A Good Sadness
07. Astro-Mancy
08. I Love You to Death
09. Plenty Of Girls in the Sea
10. An Orphan of Fortune
[Listen] Washed Out Unveils New Track "Don't Give Up"
The Washed Out hype train is quickly picking up speed. After announcing his sophomore album Paracosm a few weeks back, Ernest Greene gave us the vibrant lead single "It All Feels Right." I was impressed. He's taking a more nuanced approach to his music, using a wide array of instruments to create a mellow sound with lots of depth. That approach is even more evident on his latest cut, the nostalgic "Don't Give Up." It begins and ends with the faded sounds of friends and family laughing, setting the perfect tone for three-and-a-half minutes of blissful summer listening. Stream it below in the form of a lyric video.
Paracosm is out on August 13th.
[Listen] Joe Goddard & Boris Dlugosch – "Step Together"
It seems like Joe Goddard is always busy, dipping his hands into numerous musical ventures including his mainstay Hot Chip to The 2 Bears to remixes and solo projects. Today, he released a brand new solo EP titled Taking Over, and it's pretty damn good. Before you dive in a grab it, we thought it would be best to introduce you with two of its four songs.
The first is "Step Together," which Goddard worked on with German producer Boris Dlugosch. It's a bouncy house track fitted with slick piano chords and Goddard's smooth vocal delivery. The second is "She Burns." It features the vocals of Mara Carlyle, focusing on her echoing tones while hi-hats and spaced-out synthesizers shimmer in the background. Stream the former below, while the latter is accompanied by some grim, funerary visuals.
The Taking Over EP is available to purchase now on iTunes and other avenues.
[Watch] Yeah Yeah Yeahs Jam Atop the Empire State Building in the Clip for "Despair"
Last week, The New York Times reported that the Yeah Yeah Yeahs would be filming the video for "Despair" atop the Empire State Building in New York. That video premiered today on Noisey, and it marks the first time a music video has been shot atop the historic landmark. It follows the late night journeys of band members Karen O, Nick Zinner and Brian Chase as they converge at the building, climbing to its high reaching observation deck to rock out as the sun rises. Watch the Patrick Daughters-directed clip below.
Karen O spoke of the experience, describing it as an "impossible is possible" kind of moment:
I felt like I could give as personal a performance because of our history together. It was important to us that it felt intimate despite being filmed at one of NYC’s most famous landmarks and an international cultural icon. It was my first-ever trip up to the top of the ESB, top of the world, we were up there from 3am to sunrise, I’m guessing very few get to see that view from up there at those hours. I gotta say I had a ‘the impossible is possible’ moment up there with Nick and Brian. If someone would have sat us down at the Mars Bar years back and told us that we’d be performing our music on the top of the Empire State Building one day, we probably would have thought that’s the stuff that dreams are made of, not us, no way."
