[News] Jack White says new music from The Raconteurs & The Dead Weather in the works
In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, Jack White has managed to get a lot of people very, very excited. He's stated that as well as working on new solo material, he's also been plugging away on new music with The Raconteurs and Dead Weather. Members of all the bands are now living in Nashville and naturally, they're good friends, they hang out and with that comes a musical outlet too. The Raconteurs have also now built their very own studio in Nashville which I'm sure helps with the process.
With this fantastic news though we are unsure as to which project will see the light of day first, but with Jack and Third Man Records who knows when it might be. Next week? Next year. We'll see. Watch this space.
[Watch] The Dillinger Escape Plan - "Hero of the Soviet Union" (Live Video)
We've bigged up The Dillinger Escape Plan a fair bit over the past few years. Well, I have anyway. Their new album, One of Us Is the Killer, is one of the year's highlights for me so far, and it's one of their finest. With a band like Dillinger though, they are a whole other beast in a live setting. So with that in mind they decided to offer up fans a preview of what they can expect on their upcoming tour with a live video accompanied by their track "Hero of the Soviet Union". Check it out above.
[Listen] The 1975 - "Sex"
So The 1975 offer up another slice of re-mastered energy from their forthcoming self-titled debut for fans. Having already previewed the big sounding re-take of "The City" they now give us "Sex" in a crisp, clean and immensely polished new version. Pretty sure the album is going to rocket them further up the festival bills in the coming years, but for now wrap your ears around this.
Their debut is scheduled for release via Dirty Hit/Polydor on September 2nd.
[News] Earl Sweatshirt Announces August Release Date for 'Doris', Reveals Tracklist
Earl Sweatshirt previously stated that his new album Doris would be released by the end of July. Now, though, it's confirmed that we'll be waiting a few weeks longer to hear his latest record. The Odd Future rapper took to Twitter, simply saying "DORIS AUG 20th." That was accompanied by a picture of the album's tracklisting in Earl's iTunes. Just one month to go until you can hear those fifteen tracks.
What's more, the above image was posted on Odd Future's Tumblr, and it looks to be the artwork for Doris.

[Listen] A-Trak Remixes Phoenix's "Trying To Be Cool"
The Phoenix remixes keep on coming. After the band released the stems for each song from their recent album Bankrupt!, other artists and producers have been tinkering and reworking to their heart's content. A-Trak is the latest to issue his take, this time on the track "Trying To Be Cool." He layers bright synths beneath Thomas Mars' vocals, only to amp it up with a rising crescendo and a burst of club-ready percussion. Check it out below.
[Watch] Dead Sons - "Gasoline"
Having some fun in the sun this weekend? Why not soundtrack it with the huge sounding new single from Sheffield's Dead Sons. Titled "Gasoline" it's the last we'll hear from the band in 2013, but it's a big farewell to a great year for them. I remember watching the band at their Manchester show in May and this song being played, I was eager to hear the recorded version and boy does it deliver. Riffs for days. A grandiose bridge reminiscent of Kyuss/QOTSA. Seriously, if you're sat in the garden right now having a beer and a BBQ, grab some big ass speakers and turn this up. Loud.
You can grab the download for the track from the 27th of July. The band have just announced that their last show of 2013 will take place on August 2nd at Sheffield's Leadmill. It's not to be missed! Treat yourself as it's free. You won't be disappointed. Also, carry on enjoying your weekend. (and beer!)
[News] Arcade Fire Confirms October Release Date for New Album
There was recently word that Arcade Fire would be releasing new music on September 9th, and if that's true then today's news would certainly make sense. After a fan tweeted the band saying "you're my favorite," they replied with "Thanks. Our new album will be out October 29th." It also came paired with the image above.
There you have it, October 29th. This just goes to show that a simple show of gratitude can go a long way.

[News] RJD2 Announces New Album 'More Is Than Isn't'
Hell yes, RJD2 is back! The prominent producer has kept himself busy since releasing his fourth LP The Colossus back in 2010, but he has returned with the announcement of a proper follow-up. On October 8th, RJ will release More Is Than Isn't, his fifth studio album.
While the album does boast some impressive vocal talent—including Aaron Livingston, Phonte Coleman, Khari Mateen, Blueprint, P. Blackk, and STS—it is described as a departure for the producer. He states, "In ways, all of my previous albums were in some fashion striving to achieve something more than being just instrumental music. This is the first RJD2 album I’ve made that actually revels in a relative lack of vocals."
More Is Than Isn't will incorporate "new production techniques and approaches while still keeping an eye on the basic aesthetic that has always driven him: soulful, melodic, beat-oriented music." And, as a whole, the album will be "tied together by three instrumental pieces that are different explorations of the same harmonic theme. It captures a dynamic range not seen before on an RJD2 album, ranging from subdued jazz-tinged pieces to bombastic club music, and a lot of funk in between."
I for one cannot wait to hear what RJ has in store. Check out the tracklisting below and stay posted for more on this new LP.
